does anyone know where I can book the EN 463 (night jet) from Munich to Budapest? I can only find the connection Munich-Vienna. The train is displayed everywhere, but there are no booking options.
If the train is not running at the moment, is there an alternative to get from Germany to Budapest by night train?

Can normally be booked via ÖBB. Do NOT use the "Seat only” option but add the "Interrail / Eurail” discount and then look for normal tickets.
As to the through coaches continuing to Budapest, I can only find them starting from 27 July.

If you have to change in Wien=the usual terminus of most nighttrains of OeBB anyway: have to use other travelday to reach Bp.-or the much cheaper bus or yellow RegioJet train.
There is also an overnite to Bp via PL-SK from Berlin, rerouted as for now due to landslips blocking the line along the Donau in HU.

Actually this was the problem. Now I can book it via ÖBB.
And since I go in August the trains a going again.

Letztlich kommt es auf den Verkehrstag an. Aber in den meisten Nächten ist auf Höhe Traunstein zwischen 23 Uhr und 4.50 Uhr eine Vollsperrung, sonst eingleisig. Der Zug umfährt dann mit einer Doppeltraktion 218er via Mühldorf - für Diesel-Nostalgiker sicher interessant. 😁

Aber ernsthaft: Ohne deine Eingaben zu kennen, hast du entweder das Datum in dem Zeitraum verändert oder deine Eingabe beim Abfragen geringfügig geändert. Deswegen hab ich ja geschrieben: “je nach Benutzereingabe”. Wenn man die Abfrage nur etwas anders macht, findet man ihn oder nicht…
