Problem booking IC 60403 / NJ 403

I found a night jet train in the Rail Planner app I’d like to take, and it doesn’t require seat reservation. I tried to reserve in the interrail site anyway but I got a message that there might not be available reservations anymore. I looked for the trip in the train lines sites (both DB and ÖBB) and were not able to find it for the same date. Here the details for the trip:

IC 60403
Amsterdam Centraal to Zurich HB
28.03.2026, 20:15-08:05

Does that mean there is a problem with the schedule in the Rail Planner app and this trip won’t happen?

Normally the seating carriages run as IC 60403 and the couchettes and sleepers run as NJ 403, all in the same physical train.

On 28/3, NJ 403 is in the systems, but only from Cologne to Zurich. IC 60403 is missing.

In the other direction though, the complete route for NJ 402 and IC 60402 is in the planners, also on the days before and after 28/3, so that doesn't add up. I think the timetable is incomplete, probably because of engineering works. If you'd like to use the night train, ask ÖBB (e.g. via Facebook or by phone) whether they're planning to run from Amsterdam, and if so, when they think bookings will open.

Looks like that train does not run on the mentioned date. I guess the schedule in the rail planner app is not up to date.

@abspezzia

I would try later. Engineering works are perhaps planned and the definitive timetable is currently not available.

Also, the reservation via Interrail is €8 instead of €3 via ÖBB.

@Marvin Heer @Danhiel @rvdborgt Thank you all!

If I understand correctly, it’s the same train but ÖBB runs it as NJ 403 and DB as IC 60403. I searched for a different trip for night jet, and found two results: one with NJ and one with IC. My guess is that for the trip mentioned in the original comment, ÖBB removed the NJ result, as the train won’t run that day; but perhaps DB did not update the record somehow.

Anyway, I’ll better find an alternative trajectory instead, just to be sure.
