Problem with making Eurostar seat reservations

Hi,

I want to buy an interrail pass for the summer, but I am not sure yet, how many travel days I will need. This is why I do not want to buy a pass yet. However, I already know that I would like to travel from Brussels to London at one specific day. I read in this post https://community.eurail.com/ask-the-community-40/making-eurostar-reservations-before-buying-pass-15151?tid=15151&fid=40 that you can make seat reservations before buying a pass by entering a 8-digit random pass number.

However, the website tells me that my random pass numbers are invalid and does not allow me to proceed with the booking. I also tried the pass number of an ancient pass, but it leads to the same problem.

Do you know how to solve this issue ?
Is there still a way of making Eurostar seat reservations before buying a pass ?

Thank you in advance !
Best wishes,
Anne

The best place to book is raileurope.com (no added booking fees).

I11111111 doesn't work anymore. It always starts with a capital letter i, followed by 8 digits.

You can generate a valid pass cover number here. Just enter 6 characters (letters and/or digits).

Try with an ”I” before 7 (or 8) random numbers
