End of July, I’m traveling from Germany to Sicily, so far, so good. For my way back, 12th of August 2025, I would like to take the Inter City Notte from Milazzo to Milano. Somehow, there is no possibility yet to get seat reservations in August. Is there a problem with the railway or is it just too early to book? Thank you :)

It's too early, probably the timetable isn't final yet due to engineering works.
Once trenitalia.com offers regular tickets, you can also book elsewhere. Deutsche Bahn can also book this train at the ticket office or by phone.
Also note that there are no seats, only couchettes (€41) and sleepers (but you need to book the entire sleeper compartment).
