Hello,

my trip to denmark starts on monday. I tought i already have all the information and tickets required but now i am reading different things about the seat reservations in Denmark. The Interrail App says, that no reservations are required on the trains but some people here said that they are mandatory. What is correct? The train would be an IC between Odense and Kopenhagen at 5:56

Thank you very much in advance!

Reservations not needed for that train.

It’s only the Copenhagen - Hamburg IC service that has required reservations in Denmark.

Because that one goes across the border? That would make sense

Thank you very much!

It’s because that service is very busy and far too short, so is constantly full in the crowded summer period.

They have replacement trains on order and temporary replacement trains before that but not in time for this year's summer peak unfortunately.

Reservations on the direct trains between Hamburg and Denmark are optional again from Monday 22 August. But they're still very much recommended.
