« Method 1 ».

You can make the reservation at ÖBB. Make sure to add Interrail as discount and then choose "normal tickets". Do not choose "seat only". You need to scroll down to find the EN but you will find it further down.

The pricing is dynamic so even with Interrail it might be rather expensive.

For some reason, ÖBB only seem to offer a 1-person sleeper compartment (Single) if you're travelling alone, which is the most expensive option. If you'd like a 2-person (Double) or 3-person (T3) shared compartment, then book on cd.cz. There again, add Interrail as a discount.

Also make sure to select EN 40458 (with sleepers) and not EC 458 (with seats). Please note that there are no couchettes, only sleeper compartments.

Ok, thank you very much, I tried but I can’t manage to get a reservation for a sleeper, so I believe this option is not available (I can only access to 2d class compartment with seats). I am going to take a seat !

Thank you for all the advices !

This means you selected EC 458 instead of EN 40458. They're listed as separate trains with the same timetable.

The EN 40458 doesn’t appear in the list when i do the research, is there something I’m missing ?

If you choose travel in a seating compartment. The seats in the compartment wagon from cd allowed you to lie flat if there were 3 or less people per 6person compartment. (On my last trip i decided to stay a bit longer and the reservations were to expensive for the fact that i would have to get off arround 5:00 in the morning. So i just took the EC part without a reservation.)

@rvdborgt What is your travel date? → tuesday, August 11

@Marvin Heer : So i just took the EC part without a reservation.) → but I understood I do need a reservation to get on the train. On ÖBB, i can only purchase an expensive sleeper couch, on the EN40458, and on CD, only a seat on EC458. So I guess I have to choose between the very expensive option and the tess confortable one, and also maybe if I travel on EC458 on a seat, I may have to modify the train on my pass because the one I planned is EN40458.

EC 458 (with the seats) does not have mandatory reservations.

EN 40458 has mandatory reservations, and is also showing on cd.cz:

In the next step, click on the Change button to be change "male” into "female”:
