Seat Number on Eurostar Seat Reservation

Hi everyone. This is my first time on using Eurail Pass for my next Europe Trip, then I have some questions regarding seat reservation. Hopefully all of you can help me to solve the issues regarding seat reservation.

I have planned to user Eurostar for my trip from Paris to Amsterdam. My question is whether the seat reservation in Eurail will determine the seat number as well or we have to make another reservation to get the seat number?

Secondly, if I travel together with my wife, is it possible to have seat together in Eurostar?

Pass reservations for Eurostar are best made on raileurope.com; use "Add rail pass”. That way, you don't have extra booking fees. After booking, you'll receive a PDF with carriage and seat numbers. Book for 2 persons in one go and then you'll be seated together.

Booking via Eurail is usually not recommended because it's more expensive, there are artificial booking horizons, you can never choose your seat (although you never can on continental Eurostar), etc.

    Thank you for your reply. Is it legal to have seat reservation from raileurope.com? Because when I click seat reservation menu from RailPlanner App, it only shows reservation menu from Eurail Website and Eurostar website, there is no other options beside of those 2 options.

    You can book seat reservations wherever you want. This has always been the case and hasn't changed. What the Rail Planner app lists or doesn't list as booking possibilities is not really relevant. I'm not sure why the Rail Planner app still doesn't list raileurope.com, since IMO it's currently the best website for Eurostar, France, Spain and Italy. While Eurail can't always keep up with what the operators and other booking websites offer, Rail Europe has been offering pass reservations for more than a year now.

    The Eurail website does list it.
