I made a mistake by booking my seat alone because I didn't knew we could reserve it together(with your group). So, I wanted to know if we could take it back or change seats because they're saying we can't.

It depends, seat reservations are usually not exchangeable and refundable, but you have exceptions, for example TGV in France, Frecciarossa in Italy or reservations purchased on oebb.at or in ÖBB app.

So basically I had credits to buy it on Eurail. However since it's the outward and return journey, it might not be exchangeable or refundable. Still I send them an e-mail to try to exchange my seat so we'll see.
(I'll tell you if it's worked.)
