I am looking to travel with interrail in October, and for the route I want to take I need to book several seat reservations. But I was wondering, when I have booked a seat do I get the confirmation e-mail/seat information from Interrail themselves or the train company I am travelling with?

You get the seat reservation send from wherever you bought the seat reservation.

If you buy the seat reservation directly from the train company you also get it directly from them. (you also avoid the extra 2€ reservation fee from the interrail reservation service and you sometimes can choose your seat.)

If you buy it from the interrail/eurail reservations service you also get the reservation send from them. (not all operators sell seat reservations separatly)
