 Hi

I am travelling from Australia.

I want to travel from Lake Como S.Giovanni (Italy) to Interlaken OST via Luzern (Switzerland).

I have a First Class Eu rail Pass. I have purchased reservation from  Lake Como S.Giovanni to Luzern on Euro City 178. However I am unable to reserve a seat on PE 2928 LUZERN-INTERLAKEN EXPRESS (Panorama Express) departing at 1406 from Luzern on EUrail Trip Planner.

I am getting the following message:

“Not available from Eurail.com

This seat reservation can’t be booked on our website. Check 'More information' for other ways to book.”

Please help.

Regards

In general, check this page to see how and where you best book reservations:

https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

Hint: it's almost never via Eurail, who are more expensive, less reliable, never offer any seat choice, and more.

For this particular train (Interlaken-Luzern), a reservation is possible, but not necessary. Reservations in Switzerland are generally a waste of money. There are always seats available, especially in 1st class. A large part is free seating anyway, also in trains that offer reservations.

If you really want though, you can book a reservation here:

https://shop.luzern.com/en/pages/seat-reservation-zentralbahn

I've never booked a seat there though and don't find that it's worth the CHF 12 or 16 it costs.
