+3I am planning to travel tomorrow morning from Oslo to karlstad, with first class pass.
Can anyone clarify if seat reservations are required? The planner shows optional for IC trains, but other information suggests they may be required for both IC and hst?
If they are optional, any experience with whether it will be easy to get a seat on the morning 727am train?!

Reservations for the trains can be purchased online directly from SJ by selecting the traveller and adding interrrail as a travel card. https://www.sj.se/en
AFAIK they're now optional on SJ IC. Earlier this week, our passes were enough on an IC.
You can check on the SJ app or website which seats are free by starting a booking and going into the seat selection.
