Seat Reservations on polish IC-Trains operated with Pesa Dart EMUs

Hi there, I didn’t really find information for Interrail online, maybe not to many people travel in Poland…

I want to take some IC trains to smaller places around Warszawa for example Lublin, Bydgoszcz  or Łódź. The rail planner app says I don’t need a reservation, but via Google AI I found out that there is an exception for Pesa Dart EMUs. I looked in the PKP App and found the symbol for reservations on some of these trains.
Not my question: Is there an exception for people with interrail or is the Rail planner App wrong? The reservation is super cheap, but it is annoying to make reservations for interrail in the PKP App, because when you travel in a group you can’t make interrail reservations for several people at once. Is there a smart solution?

Thank you so much!

Reservations are indeed mandatory for some IC trains. The definite answer comes from PKP themselves, e.g. https://rozklad-pkp.pl/, where it will say "reservation obligatory” in the train details.

Reservations in Poland are however mostly recommended because the long-distance trains are often full and regular tickets always have a reservation included.
