Hi!
I’m currently looking at journeys within the Netherlands, and I’ve found conflicting information in multiple places.
I’ve read that ICE trains require a supplement when used within the Netherlands (not internationally!), for example the journey from Amsterdam Centraal to Utrecht Centraal by ICE 125, 12:33-12:57. The NS website seems to imply that this journey would require a supplement, but the Rail Planner app doesn’t show it as needing one, and it’s not listed on the Eurail website.
Similarly, this NS website specifically states under the “In which situations can I travel without a supplement with Intercity direct?” header, that:
if you are traveling within the Netherlands with a Eurail or Interrail pass, an Intercity Direct Supplement between Rotterdam and Schiphol is still required.
This information is also repeated on the Eurail website.
However, when searching for a matching journey on the Rail Planner app (for example Rotterdam Centraal to Schiphol Airport by ECD 9539, 12:21-12:47) no supplement is shown.
Is a supplement actually required in either of these situations? Is the app displaying this information correctly?
Thanks!
