I am travelling on Bernina Express in December from Chur to Tirano and has anyone done this route recently and travelled to Milan? I see there are some works going in the route of Tirano to Milano and are they providing any substitute bus transport? how long does it take to reach Milan?

You can find the timetables on trenitalia.com. It takes about 2h30 with the train and 3 hours with a replacement bus for the first part of the journey.
Let's hope there won't be a strike that day...
