Hello everybody,

I have a question about a connection from Essen HBF (my home country is Germany) to Brussels Midi with the Thalys. Can I travel with the Thalys in my home country without buying an extra ticket, because Thalys is not a german railway company?

Bye

Hi, you need for this journey a Interrail Global Pass, because with it you can use 2 of the travel days in your home country.

For Thalys you need to buy a reservation to use it and to add the trip to the Interrail pass.

Seeing as you haven’t given anywhere enough details, as far as interrail passes are concerned:

The country travelled in is relevant.

The country an operator is from is not.

Bye.

Thalys and Eurostar are 2 companies within the Interrail/Eurail network . They all require mandatory reservations.

The supplmt for the Tls is much, sehr viel, higher as for the DB-ICE. Nice try, but you yourself could have thought this would not work. The NightJets from OeBB also will not accept your proposals.

Sorry for the late answer. Firstly, thanks!

For me, I think it’s cheaper to just buy DB Tickets instead of a Global Pass.

Thank you a lot.
