A good website to reserve is GWR. They can book you seat reservations (for free) on most, if not all UK long distance trains. Check this link, it's done in the blink of an eye https://www.gwr.com/your-tickets/seat-reservations
In the UK seat reservations are free, with the exception of Eurostar and the night trains.
