I am travelling from Lecco to Ventimiglia in early September 2025. The schedule in July has a direct train from Milan to Ventimiglia but the trains in September require changing 2-3 times. Are the schedules that are there now what they will be for September or will they get updated again? Would prefer to have a direct train from Milan.

It is too early for September, Ternitalia have an annoying habit of trickling the schedules out so some (usually regional) trains show before others.
You can expect that September schedules will be similar to current times but go back and check later to get confirmed times.

The line north of Lecco is closed for 3 months until 14th September so times may be slightly different on Lecco-Milan.
In any case, as said September is quite a bit away. ;)
