Trains saying "prices unavailable" when making seat reservations. It is possible it isn't sold out?

Me and my 3 friends are going interrailing for 2 months. We have been online and there to reserve our trips and for 2 of them have been unable to reserve seats online as they are saying “prices unavailable” as it is possible that all pass holder seats are sold out. The specific trains and dates we are having trouble with are:

Pamplona » Madrid (8th July)

LJUBLJANA » Split (20th July 1837 night train)

We are unfortunately unable to change dates of these trains as we have booked accomodation and events surrounding these places.

Is it possible all the spots havent  come out yet? Should we wait before starting to look at alternative travel? Any suggestions on how to get around this would be fantastic .

Thankyou!

Spanish train reservations cannot be booked online (due to RENFE's dislike of passes). Here are the available options :

It shouldn't be a problem to book those seats when you arrive in Spain (at any train station)

The Zagreb - Split night train is not available online. Either you contact rezervacije@hzpp.hr or you pay for a regular ticket (not much more expensive).

It is often a good idea to avoid Interrail/Eurail to book seat reservations as 2€ booking fee per person per train are added + sometimes seat reservations are way more expensive (optional ones mainly).
