Hello,

I take a night train from Rome (17:25 pm) to Vienna (arrives around 9 am)and then transfer from Vienna to Prague and I do change two trains. Do I need to active my 2nd day or does it count as one?

Thank you

If you can leave Rome earlier, you could travel to Milan and Zurich on Day 1, then board the sleeper to Prague from there at 2140. That way, you only use one travel day.

But I think I prefer your route. If you don’t want to use another travel day, you might want to buy a ticket from Vienna-Prague instead. It can be as cheap as €15, and you can save your travel day for another journey.

The time you board a train is what counts. You’re boarding a train on Day 1 in Rome, and another train on Day 2 in Vienna. So it counts as two days.

Thank you for the information and that’s also a good idea to board from Zurich. I will look into possible options.
