Unable to book return leg on Renfe AVE Internacional Madrid - Narbonne

On 1st February, my partner and I managed to book the once-a-day Renfe AVE Internacional from Narbonne to Madrid without any issues on the Interrail website (date of travel 1st May 2026, Interrail 1st class pass).

We are now trying to book the return leg of our journey, Madrid to Narbonne on 10th May 2026, but we are unable to. We get this message: “No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.”

If I search for the train we already booked (1st May) the same message appears. What happened? Why were we able to book the first leg of our journey but now that’s no longer possible? What can we do?

To note - the 10th May trains are available on Renfe’s website, just not (any longer?) on Interrail

It seems there are no pass holder seats anymore for journeys from Madrid to France in this AVE.

However, you can still book from Madrid to Barcelona and from Barcelona to France (in the same train!)
