I have a Eurail Pass. When I try to use it to reserve a seat on the Golden Pass trains in Switzerland, I get the message, “Pass Not Valid”.

If I reserve a seat using the Golden Pass train website, will my Eurail Pass be accepted as the ticket?

I checked in the planner but I don't see that.

  1. Could you please check if there are any app updates?
  2. If that doesn't help, then could you please specify which exact train(s) have this warning? (Route, date, departure time)

The pass should be valid.


The Golden Pass route has optional reservations which imho are a waste of money. I've never seen crowded trains. What is your travel date and departure time ? 

If you don't make a seat reservation, you have more flexibility too : could stop in Gstaad for an hour, etc

Btw if you want to take the direct train Montreux - Interlaken it does not run at the moment due to technical issues. You have to change in Zweisimmen like all other hourly trains :)
