Hi there,

I am looking at a day trip from Würzburg to Rothenburg ob der Tauber on the 18/10/2025. From the DB website, I will need to take RE10, RB81, RB82 with a total journey time of 2h 10m.

But yet if I go back to the 9/10/2025 and earlier, there is the RE80 available which will shorten the trip by an hour.

Is the RE80 on some sort of seasonal schedule?

I suspect engineering works, for which the regular trains have already been removed from the timetable, but the alternative timetable (train or replacement bus) has not been uploaded yet.

Please ask questions in the community and not via a private message. That's the quickest way to get a response. I don't work for Eurail/Interrail.
