Good morning,

I’m a little confused about my Eurostar booking.

I had an email yesterday saying:

“We’ve had to make some changes to the timings of your Eurostar journey 9148 on Friday 14 August to Lille Europe  due to engineering works.

Your train will now be leaving later from London St Pancras Int'l at 18:34 and will arrive in Lille Europe at 21:06.”

However, I can see that my original train is still running (the 17.04) and you can even still buy tickets for it. I’d much rather be on this train than the later one. Does anyone know what this is about?

I’ve contacted them via their form but it looks like it can take a while for them to respond (up to 28 days).

Thank you.

Go to the Eurostar website or app and use "Manage my booking” to check what train it shows. If it shows the later train, then move yourself back onto the original one. That is free of charge.

I’ll try that. I was just worried if I did that then the train might actually be cancelled or some such. Do you know why they’d move me to the later train if there’s nothing wrong with the earlier one?

I don't have a clue what happened.

If you booked the 17:04 (train 9152) originally, then Eurostar's message is strange, since it already assumes you're on train 9148.

Does your original confirmation mail indeed mention train 9152?

No, my email confirmation doesn’t state the train number just times. Very odd.

A quick google AI also seems to show confusion, in that it thinks the 9152 is the 18.04 and the 9148 is the 17.04!
