Booking a seat when a reservation isn't necessary

I am trying to reserve a seat on a train from Derby to St Pancras. Using the Eurorail app it says a reservation is not necessary but I want to reserve a seat as I know the train can get very busy. My Global pass is for 1st class travel. How do I do it?! Thank you

At any ticket office in Great Britain or online via GWR:

Seat reservations in GB are free of charge.

At any ticket office in Great Britain or online via GWR:

Seat reservations in GB are free of charge.
