Forced to get reservation due to strikes

As strikes continue in France many trains were cancelled and the only train available to us required seat reservations.  We had to get on this train as accommodation was already booked.  Are we able to get a refund? If so, how do we do it?

Would be difficult to get a refund :/ As the strikes were announced :/

Relevant is, whether the strike was announced before or after purchase of the ticket (the pass).

Fact is that SNCF was obliged to offer an alternative. What did they offer? In any case that is where you should ask for reimbursement.
