Innsbruck to Chur trip

Hello fellow travelers, I’m having a bit of trouble setting my trip from Innsbruck(Austria) to Chur(Switzerland). It does show routes whenever I look into Rail europe or Omio, but I’m not sure about connection times, they all seem to be pretty short to me.Three to nine minutes so you know. I fear I won’t make it in between connections. Apparently I don’t have to make any seat reservations for this route. Has anyone ever made this trip and have any tips or advices on how to make this route?

A few minutes is fine in Switzerland, when you’re on Swiss trains at least.

In general, when the timetable engine shows you a connection, it means you can do it - they don’t propose connections that are too difficult.

Feel free to share your exact trains here for more comments. I prefer to use a proper rail timetable, such as the one on sbb.ch. It will be more up to date, and give you much more detail.

And remember - in the unlikely event that you miss a connection in Switzerland, it doesn't really matter. There will be another train in 15 or 30 minutes.

If you happen to have a first class pass, and depending on your preferred departure time from Innsbruck, you might wish to take the Eurocity from Innsbruck-Buchs. It leaves in the afternoon and carries a Panoramic coach.

But otherwise any train is fine.

Also please note that Omio and Rail Europe are not good train planners. Rail Europe can be used for some of the reservations, but that's it.

For this journey, check timetables on fahrplan.oebb.at or sbb.ch.

If you want specific advice, then please mention travel date and departure time.
