Good day all. We are a family of 5 traveling just one day from Carcassone to Barcelona. Can anyone pls tell me the best way to purchase this?
This is our first trip to Europe and we only need the one way train ticket. Do we still need a rail pass for this or can we just buy the one way train tickets?

You don't need a rail pass for just one journey.
You can check prices via e.g. Trainline or SNCF. The earlier you book, the lower usually the prices.
You have 2 ways-on normal trains with more changes-and no advacne at all even possible-just buy on the day in 2 legs- FR till border=Port BOu, there for ESpana/RENFE rodalies.
OR via Narbonne or Perpignan with local and then fatser AVE or TGV toll BCN-book on site.
For the leg In GFR there may be family discount-possinly not in peak times. Ask at counter-and be prepared for noone to speak /en/-there is a translate google on your fone.
