The direct line between Paris-Milan reopens on 1 April. As long as you’re looking after that date, you can do it in a (long ish) day. See here Option 2
if you don’t see those trains, you’re looking too far in the future, or you’re looking before April.
You can also take the TGV to Turin, then a sleeper to Rome. Slower than the above route, but more time efficient.
