Ticket didnt work at barrier

We had to scan our ticket at a barrier to board a train from St Lazare to Rouen.  The QR code was not accepted,  a message 'Titre non valide' with a big red cross appeared.  The assistant couldn't help but eventually another colleague let us through as the train was about to leave.

Are we likely to have the same problem on our return trip to Paris?  Everything looked ok with our ticket,   train number, date, time etc.

It's the first time we've had to go through a barrier,   scanning during ticket inspection on other routes has been fine

Rouen doesn't have barriers. In France, there are rarely barriers for regional trains. For TGVs, your reservation will work. This might also have been the case for your train to Rouen, if it was one with mandatory reservations.

Thank you.  There were no reservations required as we're on TER trains to/from Paris.  Hopefully we wont have a problem on the return leg.

Some TERs from/to Paris (via Rouen) have mandatory reservations. But if you're not using one of those, then AFAIK the pass QR code is supposed to work.

@Eurail Community Moderator According to the mobile pass FAQ, the mobile pass barcode is supposed to work on gates in France for TERs, so it looks like SNCF have a problem.

Yes I think it was a problem with the gates.  The ticket inspector has just been past and the tickets scanned fine.

In the past the barriers used to open with mobile passes: my mobile pass opened access gates in Marseille for a TER last February.

Hi! We can’t find any other reports about this being an issue. This could have been a one-off situation; it's hard to tell what's the real issue. We will monitor this and see if it comes up again. In the meantime @Julie Adams if you encounter the same problem on your return trip, reach out to our customer service right away and let us know.

Hi, this july I tried to leave Barcelona Sants for short time, but my Interrail QR code was not accepted at the groundfloor barriers. So I had to beg the staff to let me out and in again for a refreshment and a fast picture of the station. Very annoying in an overcrowded place.

My barcode worked on the Rodalies gates in Catalonia (several stations) a few years ago, until some kind of server error showed up. No idea what the current situation is. Other gates don't work to begin with and you need to ask staff, which can indeed be annoying because there's not always someone nearby.
