I’m just checking I understand this right before I book, buts basically with a global pass you can use the Eurostar, but pay a fixed price do the seat reservation depending on your destination. Only checking as this sounds ridiculously cheap compared to how much the Eurostar costs usually ??but if that is the case then that’s amazing
Eurostar pass reservations are actually among the most expensive ones and they also have a quota, which means that Eurostar pass reservations will run out before the train is fully booked.
Prices from London are €30/38 (2nd/1st class) to Paris/Brussels and €5 more to Rotterdam/Amsterdam.
Sounds about right. Usually a bit cheaper than ordinary tickets. The only thing is, that these reservations can sell out. So book 2-3 months in advance to make sure you have the train you want.
Cheap? Depends, you still have the count the cost of your travel day on your Interrail/Eurail pass (cost of your pass divided by the number of travel days) and add your reservation cost. Quite often this is about the price of a cheaper range Eurostar ticket. But if your Eurostar is one train of many during a travel day, it can be a bit cheaper than its ordinary prices.
For which Eurostar route? To/from London?
For the Paris-Brussels-Amsterdam/Cologne routes( ex-thalys) there are alternatives with cheaper reservation cost, or even without mandatory reservations at all.
