I am  currently living in France but my main residence is in Germany.

I’d like to travel from North-Est of France to Italy (where the easiest way is through Germany) do I have to use this way as an inbound/outbound day, as I have to indicate that my residence is Germany?

I wouldn’t stay in Germany, just passing through (by taking more than one train).

My Plan is Metz(F) - Bressanone(I) - Magdeburg(D) - Metz(F). So I would need the in/outbound-days for Italy to Germany and Germany to France.

Is it possible to travel through Germany or do I have to try to avoid Germany?

You have to avoid Germany on your way to Italy (otherwise it would use one of the 2 Homecountry Journey´s :)

In your case quite easy to avoid :)
Metz - Strassbourg - Basel and further to Italy 🙂 take the direct TER to Basel to avoid expensive reservations ;)

Thank you!
