I previously used a paper pass and like the idea of it as a keep sake. As I am the organiser of our group I would have to add trips, copy across to all pass holders and generate their tickets for each leg of the trip. all relying on internet connection which has been problematic on a recent trip. Therefore I was thinking of going old school and buying paper copy of the global pass. Has anyone else recently used the paper version of the pass?

Yes, I have used paper passes several times in the last few years. No hassle. All you need is a pen.
Sometimes had very excited conductors, though 😃:
In a Czech train: “Oh, wow, this is my first paper pass ever!”
Also in a Czech train: “I know there is mobile pass, but paper is gold!”
In a UK train: “YESSS!!! This is how this should look like!”
You can travel separately with mobile passes of course as well. Just have everyone “carry” their own pass (and their own seat/bed reservation info) on their own phone.
