Question

Trains in Poland, reservation, OCP not valid?

Hi,

I have a One Country Pass for Poland, 1st class. I have tried to make a reservation in the rail planner app / interrail website several times, but for any Intercity, EuroCity and other trains for which a reservation is (maybe) mandatory I get the message “not in pass network”. Due to the Interrail terms of use, all trains I want to go by are included in the pass, either without or with reservation and a surcharge.

On the PKP Intercity website it is no problem to book a reservation. They accepted my Interrail pass number and sold me a reservation for e.g. IC 145 (Mockava-Poznan).

Who is right, Interrail / rail planner app or PKP Intercity?

In the community section, I could not find an answer for this problem (I have already completed a search).

A OCP for Poland is not valid from Mockava, since that's in Lithuania. You'll need an extra ticket from Mockava to Trakiszki.

If you have any other trains where reservations didn't work, please mention their routes.

Also, as you may have noticed, the Interrail website is quite expensive for reservations in Poland, compared to PKP IC.

I have an OCP for Lithuania, too.

On the PKP (Intercity) website, I managed to book all reservations I need. I had to fill in my OCP number and it was fully accepted, even for a reservation from Mockava (LT).

On the interrail website / app no train works. E.g. EC 42 (and all other EC) from Poznan to the border (I tried it to the last stop in Poland), EC 42 from Warszawa, IC 145 from any station (Bialystok, Warszawa, Poznan) to Szczecin...

If I try Warszawa-Krakow, the same problem for all trains (examples): EIP 5302, IC 5326, EIP 5352 etc.

And apparently for all other trains!

In that case, you can use your passes of course.

To be honest, I never use the Interrail website to book reservations, because of the higher costs and the sometimes inexplicable errors.

Instead, this page offers a good overview of the best places to book:
