My favorite slow travel route is from Belgrade to Bar. It offers fantastic views of deep gorges.

That's a tough question as l love so many routes. I would say Oslo to Bergen over two days with a side trip on the Flambane and a stroll around the beautiful village of Dale.

My all time favorite, though not part of the Interrail network, would be the journey from Guyaquil to Riobamba in Equador, passing over the “Nariz del diablo” I did in the nineties. 
Back then it was possible to sit on the roof of the train and the scenery was stunning, going up thought the jungle to the Andean highlands. 

A train ride on my wish list is Flåmsbanan in Norway. 

The journey between Beograd and Subotica on the regional line over Zrenjanin, it’s like going by bike with stops everywhere and really local.

My favorite train ride is from Germany to Spain because of the feelings I connect with it.  
I have a few friends in Spain who I met during my time in Peru and the long train ride gives me time to calm down and read a book but also time to get excited to meet my friends and also lots of time to think which is why I enjoy this train ride every time

I enjoyed the train rides from Zermatt to Filisur on the narrow gauge railways. But i should have included a bit more time for stops along the way. Was fun seeing some remaining snow next to the train tracks at the end of May. (The highest station on that route is Oberalppass at arround 2000m). I really should do that route again with a bit more time. 

It’s hard to pick a favourite, but the journey from Nanu Oya to Elle in Sri Lanka is a fine contender. It really was slow travel - and spectacular.

The ones on my list in the near future are the Doğu Ekspresi in Eastern Turkey (if I can get tickets!) and the Train Jaune in the Pyrenees.

I really enjoyed the journey from Narvik in Norway to Boden in Sweden. It passes through the Arctic Circle and into Swedish Lapland, with stunning views of lakes and mountains. Because some sections are on single tracks, the train will stop occasionally for 15-20 minutes, giving you a chance to see the amazing views and get some unforgettable photos. 

Tough decision. There’s a small train in Thuringia, Germany, going up to Cursdorf. The Oberweißbacher Bergbahn is a funicular railway, and I love this tour. But I would like to be on the Orient Express someday. It’s legendary. 

The stunning ride to Ljubljana!

I loved going from Basel to Milan! The scenery was beautiful. Going trough the mountains and past the lakes was the most beautiful thing I have seen. It inspired me to stop in some of the places that I passed trough on my next trip! 

My favourite slow train journey was from Austria to Lake bled in Slovenia, beautiful Mountain View’s along the way.

Parist to Amsterdam!

Been last year and it’s filled with beautiful views from the french countryside to the french windmills!

The EC7 from Hamburg to Basel where the Rhine is available out the window most of the time 😍😍😍

My favourite slow route of all time is from Bar, Montenegro to Belgrade, Serbia. It has the most amazing views of the mountains and gorges of the Balkan region, takes about 11 hours and has very charming old trains with cabins of 6 people. I enjoyed it a lot!

The ride from Munich to Verona is a sweet memory of mine and a beautiful ride.

My favorite slow travel route is the night train in austria (bregenz - wien). I would like to travel more in eastern Europe (poland, slovaquia)

Oslo to Stockholm! Such a beautiful view of the fjords all route long .

I always wanted to travel starting in the South of France up into the North of the UK, that would truly be a dream route of mine. I’d love to go in autumn since the weather won't be too hot but also not freezing cold.

I must admit as a proud Dane i Do love the route Aalborg St. To Copenhagen St. It’s gorgerous :)

My longest and favorite train ride was from Budapest to Zurich  🫶 It took 11 hours and there was no time for sleep as view outside the window was amazing 

Paris to Barcelona! The landscape slowly changes, with some views on the Alps from far away, the sea and the Pyrennees as well. 

From Prague to Čerčany - the so-called local Pacific railway around the river Sázava. Czech republic.

I like the ‘slow’ intercity travelling from Zwolle to Vlissingen. It starts in a Hanzestad with nice canals and ends near the North Sea.
