Amsterdam is such a friendly and nice town. You can use a bike and see all beautiful artmuseum. The canals with and flowermarket in spring is special. I’d love to go to Cornwall by train and hike along the sea.

I loved traveling alone from Stockholm to Chur and boarding the small red train that wound its way across the Alps to Tirano and then on to Baveno. Wonderful! My next trip will be an exact replica, this time with my daughter, who graduates in June.

My dream journey is definitely exploring Greece by rail. After months of the grey and chilly German weather, I’m longing to escape to the Greek sun! I want to experience that pure sense of freedom, soaking up the light and Mediterranean vibes while traveling from the historic streets of Athens up to the mountains of the North. For me, slow travel in Greece would be the perfect way to recharge and find new adventures under the sun

I have been on many interrails through almost all of Europe. The most amazing thing about Interrail is that you can literally go everywhere in Europe.

My favorite trip started from Amsterdam to Switzerland, enjoying the most beautiful scenery of the Swiss Alps. Then from Switzerland to Barcelona, the best city in Europe. From Barcelona following the amazing scenery of the Côte d’Azur to arrive in Nice. Then slowly entering Italy and visiting the amazing Italian city’s like Florence and Rome. From Rome we went to Bari to go by boat (with Interrail discount) to Greece. And from Greece all the way back through the Balkan, visiting beautiful cities like Sofia, Belgrade, Budapest and Bratislava.

The real Europe trip, all with Interrail.

I did my most exciting train ride in 1988 from Khartoum to Nyala in Sudan. It was a full week on the train, it mostly rolled at 20 km/h across the savanna, and stayed put at night. I did this ride with an Australian guy, and we sat on the roof the whole journey. At night we tied ourselves to a pipe so we wouldn't roll off the train while sleeping.

The route through Italy from Bergamo to Palermo was brilliant - even crossing the Strait of Messina on a ferry!

I really liked the train from oslo to stavanger, because i saw a very beautiful sunrise in the snowy mountain region. But i also liked the train rides in the swiss alps.

My favourite route is to take the train from Vienna to Paris to see my long-distance boyfriend, whom I met thanks to my solo-travel with a Railpass ! :) In case of winning a ticket I’d love to read about Bart Giepmans stories while visiting my additional family in Britanny and Marseille as well as stopping by at some other friends that I made along my train travels in Sweden, Denmark and Czech <3

Summer of ‘23. Won with my friends the interrail pass through DiscoverEurope and decided to visit mainly the Mediterranean countries. We traveled from Spain (Barcelona) to Italy (Venice) and made a few stop to countries of Central Europe such as Switzerland and Austria too. At one point in our travel we traveled from Nice to Milano. The French Riviera was astonishing. Despite the fact that I am a sea person, I have to say that my favourite route was from Zurich to Vienna. The small villages on the mountains, the rivers and the endless green of the trees definitely has the 1st place in my heart. The route is worth travelling only for the experience.

My favorite slow train route was from vienna to Brennero,it was a long journey but with beautiful landscapes of the alps

I loved the train journeys from Mostar to Sarajevo and the Bernina Express. Both are slow but the views were amazing.

Pretty much every Ride with the Deutsche Bahn is an involuntary slow ride since the delay is almost guaranteed and you don't know what's gonna happen. So you gotta learn to accept things as they happen 😁

My fav journey was the night train from Budapest to brasov, the train is very vintage and authentic with a nice restaurant wagon, and the landscape is beautiful when we wake up

We traveled to 14 European countries with a 2-month unlimited pass. Each one was more beautiful than the last, and we made so many wonderful memories.

Train line through the highlands,Scotland. Such gorgeous scenery and so close to home.

My favourite train journey is the one that takes me back home to my family. Living in Germany, traveling back to Italy always feels special — watching the landscapes change along the way and knowing I’m getting closer to the people I love makes it my most meaningful slow travel route. ❤️🚆

Do you know how underrated Bulgaria is?! I was there in March and it is such a beautiful country. Most trains are actually on time. But the best thing is that you don't see many other tourists. The best line was the Septemvri–Dobrinishte narrow-gauge line. - This week I'm going to visit the narrow-gauge railway between Gulbene and Alūksne. It's not included into Interrail but costs only a few euros. - You know you're on a slow train track when you hear this typical clicke-di-clack :) You can hear it mostly in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, but also sometimes in France.

The next route on my wishlist would be from Munich to Italy passing through the Alps. I love hiking and that would be a dream come true.

My favourite train route has been during my interrail experience travelling between Bratislava (Slovakia) all the way to Malaga in Spain. I loved the ride due the wide variety of scenery, cultures and languages.
