I’ve never been on a long rail journey before, but I’d LOVE to go interrailing around Europe! The Bernina Express is top of my list – the scenery looks absolutely breathtaking, and I love the idea of slowing down and enjoying every moment of the journey

My fave train ride it's from Aguascalientes yo MacchuPichu. Just breathtaking!

Travel far north in search of the midnight sun. Crossing lakes and mountains. Daydreaming to the clatter of the train.

The Bernina Express, because it would feel like travelling through four seasons in a single day. You leave Swiss towns like Chur, pass glaciers at the Bernina Pass, then end up in Italian streets in Tirano. I imagine starting the trip with fondue and ending with gelato.

It’s hard to choose just one route, but the one that truly marked me was crossing the Swiss Alps by train, from Interlaken through Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. The scenery was breathtaking, but what made it unforgettable was that it turned into my own Before Sunrise moment: a trip I took on a whim that led me to meet the most special person in my life today. A route that gave me mountains, magic, and a story I never saw coming.

Favourite is the Chur to Tirano Bernina 'Express' because of the beautiful views in all directions. I would like to try the Stockholm to Oslo route and Oslo to Bergen mentioned by several people.

Hi :) I would love to discover Norway by train, especially along the Bergen Line. I dream of traveling through landscapes, from fjords to mountains, while taking the time to truly enjoy the journey ! Slow travel is the perfect way for me to connect with a place, meet new people, and experience nature.

My favorite train journey was a wonderful family trip from Belgium to Croatia, travelling through Slovenia. We were a group of 24 family members, which made the journey extra special and fun.

The highlight was the beautiful Bohinj route in Slovenia. We had an entire train carriage for ourselves, while enjoying amazing views of mountains, forests, and lakes.

It was more than just a trip — it was an unforgettable adventure with family.

My favourite journey so far was the night train from Amsterdam to Zurich. My children thought it was the best adventure, we had breakfast watching the world roll by, and then we had a few hours in Zurich before a short connection to Interlaken and the stunning beauty of the Alps in summer.

The train journey from Oslo to Bergen was my favorite slow travel experience so far. Watching the landscape change dramatically so many times was unbelievable.

My favourite slow train route is Locarno - Domodosola. Start at an amazing lake, beautiful views over narrow valleys and a beautiful steep descend into the wider valley of Domodosola.

My wishlist travel pick has to be a Scandinavian scenery Route. I'd start in Copenhagen, then take the train to Gothenburg, up to Oslo, and finally across the mountains to Bergen. It’s the perfect way to actually see the North instead of just flying over it.

My favourite slow train route was from Da Nang to Hue in Vietnam. Even though the distance you have to travel is just 100km, the train ride durates for about 3.5-4 hours. It is my favourite, because you travel by train slowly along the Hai Van Pass with a perfect view on the beautiful jungle and beaches there. The train ride is also very authentic, because you can travel in a non touristic railcar with locals all around you and enjoy the delicious vietnamese cuisine on the train. I will definetels do this again :)

I would love to take “the canadian” a train that goes from Vancouver to Toronto. I love Canada and so that’s my dream train trip.

Despite my travels, the Aberdeen to Newcastle line is still surprisingly beautiful; when you get an elevated cliff view across the sea, different everytime you go.

I'm currently on an Innsbruck - Brennero - Verona train and the scenery is stunning. Coming up the mountains at St Jodok in Austria where the train curves round and you can see the station beneath you that you just passed through is wonderful.

The most beautiful slow‑travel train ride I’ve ever done was the one from Perpignan to Barcelona. We were with this random group of amazing people we’d met along the way, and everyone suddenly turned into kids again the moment the sea came into view. The whole train got this happy, excited vibe. The windows open, sun coming in, the coastline right next to us. It felt like one of those special travel moments where everything is simple and everyone is just… really happy!
