Where to begin. I love to travel with my daughter who prefers traveling by train instead of an airplane. It is so easy with Interrail, especially Switzerland. The precise timing of the train, the tracks, it is really amazing!

The most special train track is of course the Bernina route in Switzerland. You can do this for free with Interrail and there was hardly any information to found about that fact!

That is why my daughter started a youtube channel. To share (all free) tips on traveling by interrail and around the tracks. So take a look for more tips and inspirationhttps://www.youtube.com/@Stay-On-Track-Travelvideos/videos

We would love to win your book Bart to make more memories together! Thank you and good luck with your book!

Much love 🙏🏻😍

My favourite slow train route is from Coire to Tirano with the Bernina Express.

The first time I took a train abroad alone was in Germany. I remember being in awe of the green landscape, which was so different from the yellow fields I was used to seeing at home. I can't wait to go back by train, 10 years after the first time, and see all my friends I made on the journey 🌈

Really keen to explore Spain by train this summer, stopping at any and all foodie hotspots on the way!

My absolute dream train ride would be the glacier express going straight through the heart of the Swiss alps! 🏔✨

(Whilst eating some Toblerone of course 😋)

My favourite slow train journey is from Geneva to Gstaad.

The scenery is incredible. What really stayed with me, though, was the snow. As someone from the UK and not a skier, I was amazed that trains could climb so high and reach places that felt so remote and extreme to me.

But what makes the journey truly special is the memory tied to it. I took this train as a student, travelling to visit my boyfriend. I was young, a bit unsure of myself, and still figuring things out, but that whole journey felt like pure joy and possibility.

Even now, I associate that train ride with a sense of freedom and excitement. We now travel as a family with teens and it brings the greatest joy and connection.

I would love to take the Oslo-Bergen train one day to see the beautiful landscapes Norway has to offer.

I travelled throughout Switzerland, last year. Such a great tour, all by train and boats. I’d love to continue that train trip, for I have not seen all I wished. After Switzerland I’d love to travel Spain and Norway, too.

Well, my favourite slow train journey is NOT Nottingham to Bristol….but it is  always my slowest! The one I want to do this year is from Avignon to Genoa or beyond, I’ve travelled this coast many times but only on the mainline trains. The coastline is incredible and this time, I want to stop off everywhere, especially Menton.

The train ride from Milan to Zürich was incredibly beautiful, so maybe that one. Crossing the Öresund bridge between Copenhagen and Malmö is always a cool one as well (especially as a fan of the TV show “Bron/The Bridge” :D)

My dream slow travel journey is the Glacier Express in Switzerland, because it turns travel into something mindful, not rushed. I love the idea of spending a full day watching the Alps roll by, crossing viaducts and mountain passes, and just being present in the moment. It’s not about arriving, it’s about experiencing every second of the journey.

The train route between Yerevan and Gyumri, in Armenia, is definitely the one I am most affectionate of. The ride is pretty slow, so you have more than enough time to look at the beautiful landscape, ranging from mountains that are already capped with snow in September, to areas that almost look like a desert. On top of it, the train is one of a kind, with wooden seats and wonderful decorations on the roof and walls. As my friend said, it looked like a teapot :)

Definitely recommend going there!!

I interrailed as a student (France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Germany) and had great adventures, but then I took it up again with my sons. Our first trip together in 2016 - which included Amsterdam, Vienna, and Nuremberg - was really special. [top tip: entry to the huge Deutsche Bahn museum in Nuremberg is free to passholders!] Going the slow way back up along the Rhine to Cologne via Mainz was lovely. We also enjoy using S-Bahns to explore German cities we visit - they’re included in your pass if it’s a travel day.

My favourite used to be Posazavsky pacifik (now discontinued) so I now love all the trips with CD Nostalgie steam trains whether alongside Sazava river or others. They usually announce them as public holiday events and always a big public interest at every stop along the route.

My plan for the future would be the Orient express but it is expensive as hell :)

A route I’ve always wanted to do is the, famous Bernina pass from Chur to Tirano, with its marvels of engineering - the Landwasser viaduct, the spiral tunnels to gain and lose height, and, of course, the stunning mountain scenery.

My favourite journey by train is the one I took last April from London to Lisbon via Barcelona. The scenery was stunning and I particularly liked the journey through Merida where you follow along the river. While there were a few unexpected delays along the way, it was a wonderful adventure thanks to my interrail pass.

My dream would be to follow the route from London to Istanbul one day.

The train that it´s on my wishlist is, without a doubt the Bernina Express. Alongside the spectacular views, that´s one of the first trips my parents did when they met and I would love to also be able to experience that.

The best route i have traveled was from Saint Lious next to the border of Zwitserland all the way to Tirano and then through Italy back to Basel where you can take the nighttrain back to Amsterdam, all that in one day! I hope to be able to complete my Europe bucket list by visiting North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Kosovo, Bosnia and Turkey and then I’m complete!

I would love to travel through the Baltic states, say from Hamburg via Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn. Then across to Helsinki by ferry and visit Sibelius’s house at Ainola.

My favorite slow travel train route is the one from Ella to Ambelwela in Sri Lanka! The landscape is amazing and I just looked out the window, being astonished.

My favourite train route was Berlin-Bukurestį!

When I visited the small city of Buzau, I took the Train all the way. 30 hours on three different trains, overnight. It was quite the journey!
