I am going to Krakow from London in the summer - Eurostar to Paris, then overnight train to Berlin and down to Krakow in two days. Then heading up to Gdansk on the Baltic Coast .

My favourite journey was an epic through the Nordics with the highlight being the Oslo to Bergen train, beautiful...

I have bought my interail pass and I plan going from Avignon France to Perugia Italy via Switzerland. This looks a great journey with beautiful scenery and for many years , I have wanted to visit the National Gallery  of Umbria in Perugia. I can also enjoy the delicious Italian food of that region.

My dream Interrail journey begins in Italy, on the shores of the Mediterranean, and ends on the shores of the North Sea. For years I've been dreaming about this route, watching the landscapes slowly shift: through Germany first, then Denmark, Sweden, and finally Norway, leaving behind the chaos of big cities and venturing into the breathtaking nature of Northern Europe. The north has always fascinated me and this journey would be my chance to finally find out why.

My favourite slow train route is the one between Wiesbaden and Koblenz (Germany) along the Rhine river valley, very scenic with all the hills, vineyards, and castles. And you can get off any time to visit one of the many little towns along the route.

My favorite train ride was the Belle Epoque Train between Zweisimmen and Montreux in Switzerland. Highly recommend this :))

I dream of a trip by train from Enköping in Sweden to Paris where I will spend one night och explore the surroundings. After that I will travel through several parts of France down to Montpellier. I will make stops in Lyon and Avignon on the way south. If I feel like it I might make more stops in places that I read about during the journey. If I find a really beautiful place I might even stay there longer and never even reach Montpellier before I turn back home, That's the beauty of travelling with an Interrail pass! 😊

Limerick junction to Ennis, the smell of the train, the loud clunks and clatters, the hedgerows on either side, from liminality to a market town.

I fancy the idea that borders are not separating lines, but places where stories and identity blend. Moreover, Paulo Coelho’s books made me see travel not as movement, but as something almost symbolic like a search for meaning in places where paths cross. Since I read the pilgrimage and the alchemist, I’ve had this silent dream of going to the Basque Country as parts are set in that region. I have been there only once in a rush and I would love to indulge more in the culture and the food. I will neither forget my first Talo, Txuleta nor Sidro in Donostia (San Sebastian).  Somewhere where language, identity, and culture don’t fully belong to one country or another. If I had the chance to travel with Interrail, I would start somewhere like Bordeaux, slowly moving toward the Basque coast, and letting the journey guide me rather than a strict plan. What fascinates me is that in places like this, I reckon that identity isn’t fixed, but layered. So, traveling by train is the only way to really feel that transition, to notice the subtle shifts in landscape, architecture, and culture as you move. I wanna embark on the journey in August after I have survived my semester. I’ve been imagining that journey for a long time :)

P.S. Dont mind my face in the pic, I was locked in to pour it right lmao

The Centovalli railway between Domodossola in Italy and Locarno in Switzerland. It’s a lovely small and friendly train service winding it’s way through beautiful mountain scenery.

My favorite slow train route was from Marseille to Levanto, going by the sea and through the mountains! I’m dreaming about taking a trip to the north of France though, if I win the pass, visiting all the ruins of castles and cathedrals, cliffs by the sea and beautiful cities and views. I’d love to just grab my backpack, sketchbook and spend a week sketching and sightseeing, every day in a different place.

I love the panoramic routes in Switzerland🚆. Watching the trains wind through valleys and across stunning viaducts is simply amazing every time 🏔️. I have already taken the Gotthard Express and the Bernina Express and they were absolute highlights. I would really love to explore more of these beautiful routes in the future! 🚞

My favourite journey went from Turkey to the Netherlands, making stops in different countries on the way. Crossing Europe this way was an amazing experience, seeing the landscapes, people, culture and food slowly change.

I especially enjoy the train ride from Prague to Dresden, since you get some beautiful views of the Sächsische Schweiz.

Honestly, my dream route would be the only way to truly feel the heart of Europe. I would like to start with the gritty, creative pulse of Berlin and then go to incredibly modern Warsaw, after that maybe slow things down in Krakow and Prague—cities that look like they’ve been pulled straight from a fairytale. Lastly, I would finish with the grand elegance of Vienna and a beer in Munich just feels like the perfect ending.

What I love most about a train trip is that I’m not just jumping from city to city; I’m watching the world change through a train window. No airport stress, no wasted hours in security—just me, my backpack, and a front-row seat to the best architecture, food, and culture on the continent.
