I haven’t done nearly enough, but I loved our night train experience from Utrecht to Budapest via Berlin.

My favourite journey has been through Sweden and Norway (especially from Oslo to Bergen) amazing scenery, great nature and very cool trains!

My favourite moments were when I was travelling next to the Danube in Austria, Germany and it's a next level experience the TGV trains in France.

I'm wishing to visit next London and UK with train also to travel next the Mediterranean Sea side (Spain, France, Italy):)

I like travelling along the coast between Perpignan and Cerbere, with the added bonus of being able to spot flamingoes!

I’ve always believed that the journey matters just as much as the destination — and for me, nothing proves that more than the slow train ride from Sarajevo to Mostar. Watching the landscapes shift from vibrant city life to breathtaking mountains and rivers is an experience I’ll never forget. It’s peaceful, raw, and deeply human — the kind of travel that stays with you long after you arrive.

I am really looking forward to the ride I have planned for this summer, starting from Barcelona in Spain going all the way along the coast to Italy. It has been a dream route of mine. My interrail route from last summer was surreal as well, the route through the alps was astonishing, I was going from I believe Prague to Slovenia, which took a really long time but the route made it all better. That was one of my favorite experiences, and also getting to see lake bled in real life

One of my favourite journeys in France is between Brive La Gaillard and Aurillac. At one point you are running in the middle of a river valley on a bridge which is along the river itself. Tough choice though - lots of great journeys to be had off the beaten track!

Maybe not "Slow" in general, but if you catch a "bad" snow storm you definitely need longer from Boden to Narvik! I like to travel in the winter season it's so fabulous.

slow ride from vienna to hamburg, rügen, berlin, prague and back to vienna … loved that one

The next train journey on my wishlist is the route from Innsbruck through the Alps down to Lake Como. I love slow travel because it feels a bit like long distance running. You settle into a rhythm, the scenery keeps changing around you, and you actually get time to take it all in. That route has everything I enjoy about moving through a landscape. Mountains, valleys, lakes, all unfolding at a pace where you don’t feel rushed. It seems like the perfect reset before the next big adventure.

My absolute favourite train route was between Dombas and Andalsnes in Norway. The view of the beautiful landscape made me speechless. I visited this area a few years ago and would love to go there again in order to dicover new hiking routes around there.

In September, I travelled from my hometown, La Louvière in Belgium, to Heidelberg in Germany, where I was living. I started in Belgium and made my way through Hamburg, Gdańsk, Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga, Kaunas (Lithuania), back to Warsaw, then Kraków, Brno (Czech Republic), Salzburg, Innsbruck, and finally Heidelberg.

It was an amazing trip during which I met many diverse and interesting people, all thanks to Interrail. Everything went smoothly, and since then I’ve travelled with Interrail several times!

I really really enjoyed travelling from Austria to Istanbul. Next time I would probably plan some stops in between but even without it was an amazing way to see a glipmse of different countries, experience old DB trains in Bulgaria, sleep in different night trains (the night train from Sofia to Istanbul is deluxe and cheap) and most importantly meet very interesting people.

Taking a trip like this really makes you slow down in a way I rarely otherwise do even though I can actually still do most things from inside a train. We even cooked tea in the train station. I was also reminded of border controls and really the only thing I would change about this trip is to move them to boarding like they do with the EuroStar so passengers don’t need to stand at the border at 2am.

nonetheless, an amazing experience just by itself.

The most beautiful route that I’ve done was Milan to strasbourg, it wasn't a direct route, but it went through the Switzerland mountains and then in the franch countryside. I was with my friend and it was beautiful.

Our Interrail adventure across Western Europe last summer was a whirlwind of culture, but the leg from Prague to Berlin was the absolute highlight. Watching the Bohemian countryside transition into the dramatic Elbe Sandstone Mountains from the comfort of our cabin was pure magic. The Interrail pass gave us the freedom to travel between iconic cities like Vienna, Amsterdam, and Paris, turning a long list of destinations into one unforgettable story.

My favorite journey is from Gothenburg and Oslo along the coast during the winter, a lot of wild scenery with the sea and the ice ! Wow !

The best train ride I’ve been on starts in Vienna and follows the beautiful Semmering Railway into the mountains. The views open out to forests, viaducts and distant peaks, and I spent most of it pressed to the window.

I got off at Semmering and walked through quiet woodland to Breitenstein, with occasional glimpses of the railway far below. It turned into one of those simple, perfect days out, finished with the same journey back, seeing it all again in a softer light.

I loved traveling through Italy. From Verona to the Cinque Terre, Rome & Florence. Such a scenic ride!

My favorite slow travel experience was in 2023, when I spent two months traveling across Europe for the first time in my life. During this journey, I learned so much, not only about different cities and cultures, but also about myself. It was a defining period (celebrating my 19th birthday during the trip), a time when I was still searching for who I truly am. This experience played a major role in shaping the person I have become today.

My favourite slow train ride was from Nice to Barcelona, 14h and 5 trains, but wonderful view at the sea. And a nice sunset on the train, I loved it :)

My favourite train route is the mountain train from Bergen to Oslo - the view is just awesome

I would love to go to Greece by train (from France). Challenge !

I love many scenes in Europe. One of the least expected would be parts of Denmark where the train goes high above the sea. A bit scenic, feels like flying and something from a movie!
