My favourite train journey are the long ICEs in Germany with the cozy little restaurant where everybody is always very friendly and the staff is amazing! I enjoy ‘living’ on that train for a day.

My favorite train journy definitely was from Milano to Salerno as it was my first ever time travelling alone! The feeling of freedom I experienced was indescribable!!

the slow train along the Atlantic coast of Spain where you need to notify the train conductor to stop the train at the station you want to get off

2 years ago we went on a Scandinavia tour and it was in march. One part of the trip I will never forget Oslo - Bergen. It was almost surrealistic, a real winterwonderland. Al that snow, with just some rooftops peeking out and people moving around on skis and with sledding with dogs.

I have my birthday on April 26 so I hope this will be a surprise present 🎁🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I liked the ride from Oslo to Bergen in spring. It is a travel trough the seasons between spring and winter

Travelling by train with kids means embracing the unexpected. When our night train from Zagreb to Vienna was cancelled, we changed course — and discovered something wonderful, summer-perfect Bad Gastein, surrounded by Alpine peaks and family‑friendly hiking trails. What first felt like a setback became slow days, fresh mountain air, and unforgettable views. Next stop: Mulhouse, followed by a scenic wine journey through Alsace, and then continues south to the countryside near Modena, where our kids’ love for fast cars makes this the perfect destination.

My favourite slow journey is one I frequently make to visit family in Italy, starting out from the UK.  Each time I try a different route, with different overnight stops en route - so far I have broken my journey in Paris, Strasbourg, Metz, Frankfurt, Bern, and Zurich - so much better than fast travel flying from London to Milan!

A definite train ride on my bucket list is for sure is on the Canary, or Le Petit Train Jaune (Little Yellow Train) via the route going from Villefranche-de-Conflent to Latour-de-Carol. It looks Amazing!

My favourite train ride was throughout the Balkans. It was truly amazing to see all those different landscapes.

The next train journey I'd like to book is Lapland ! Slowly travelling during winter and enjoy the coziness of Scandinavian countries...

My favorite slow travel route was from Syracuse in Sicily back to Germany. I took the night train to Rome and from there through Bologna, Munich back to Berlin. Such a cool slow Route from South to North and backwards!!

My all time favourite is traveling from Marseille tot Beaulieu sur Mer. The train had a delay. Fellow travelers where making music in the bistro and seeing the blue sea on my right, I could only smile

My favorite journey slow travelling with train was the night train going from Zagreb to Split in Croatia. When we entered the triain it was a hot, hot summers day. The weather was rainy, filled with lightning striking the night sky. The train was PACKED with people going to the south. No air-con, but 4 fellow travellers to share the sleeper with. At first glance it was such a challenge, but it sure became one of the best memories that summer. The people we met on the sleeper were so friendly and courious about each other. We shared laughs, fears and taught each other language that night. When we  woke up the next morning, the sun was shining and we were looking out at the sea, slowly entering Split. Amazing memory! Would LOVE to go traveling by train again :)

Last year’s trip to Venice from York in the UK via Strasbourg and Lake Como has inspired us to explore more routes to Italy. In Winter we want to be whisked through the snowy Alps on the Bernina express and down into northern Italy before heading to Sicily using the train that goes on the ferry. From the top of the world to the toe of Italy, form glaciers and high peaks to volcanoes and citrus groves.

I`ll always remember the slow train from Cuzco to Machu Picchu. The large panoramic window and the light that languidly flooded the carriage, the friendly conversation with the other passengers, and the slow transition of the landscapes made this journey unforgettable.

I would like to travel through Norway and Sweden, because I’ve never been there and heard great things about the views and nature.

High on my list is taking it slowly from Bangkok to Singapore, exploring the highlands and islands along the way. And in Europe, Belgrade to Podgorica is a favourite. Don't expect to sleep much!

I absolutely loved the Oslo to Bergen trip via Flam in my original interrailing trip when I was 18, and am hoping to re-discover some of the quieter beauty of Europe now my kids are grown up and we are ready to start adventuring again!

I'm lucky to have travelled on many train journeys in my life thus far. Amtrak coast to coast in the US; the Ghan from Darwin to Alice Springs in Australia; many train journeys throughout Europe; even all over India; however I'll stay local and say that the journey that I love the most is from Glasgow in Scotland, heading north through the Highlands to Mallaig, the gateway to the Outer Hebrides. Spectacular!
