My favourite slow travel train routes until now are: Chur (CH) - Tirano (IT) with the small red trains of Rätische Bahn and Locarno (CH) - Domodossola (IT) with the old trains of Ferrovia Vigezzina Centovalli.

My favourite route I was lucky to experience was on the train between Brennero and Innsbruck (Austria) under Christmas season. It was like being in a postcard, with all the fresh snow covering the trees and the track.

My dream route on my summer wishlist is the scenic one between Oslo and Bergen in Norway. And I'd maybe add the Flåm railway too!

My favourite slow train journey was in the mountains from Mostar to Sarajevo along beautiful lakes and cliffs before entering the city suburbs!

I would love to travel to the Baltics and in the Northern parts of Sweden and Norway this summer as it’s a part of Europe I haven’t yet explored and I’m interested in learning more about Estonian culture and language in particular!

My favourite slow travel route so far has been through Italy via regional trains, but northern and eastern Europe are also definitely on my wishlist!

Favourite slow travel Machynlleth to Pwllheli one of the great estuary/coatal trains in the world.

On my wishlist Sri Lanka, recently cancelled but ready to go in 2027.

I think nothing beats a train journey through Austria or Switzerland!! Will never forget looking at the window and seeing those mountains and valleys for the first time. It honestly felt magical. I would love to explore the United Kingdom some more, especially the Highlands and some of the beautiful landscapes. Or tick off some more countries I haven't been too yet 😛🌟✨

The journey I most want to do is Zagreb to Split which I’ll hopefully do in September.

My favourite so far is Chur to Tirano

My favorite trip so far has been Sweden to Portugal through Germany, Belgium, France and Spain. Loved being able to stop for a night or two in different cities and being able to take advantage of seeing so many awesome places along the way to my destination.

My favorite slow train journey has to be the one I took through Switzerland with Interrail. I still remember looking out the window and seeing waterfalls cascading down the mountains, it honestly felt unreal. That trip meant so much to me that I couldn’t stop talking about it afterwards, and I ended up passing that excitement on to my parents.

Since then, recreating that journey has been on their bucket list, but somehow it’s never happened. Winning this giveaway would mean everything to me, because I would give the tickets to them so they can experience the same magic I did. I truly hope I get the chance to make that dream come true for them 🤍🍀

That little train from Saarburg to Trier has stayed with me. Just gently following the river, no rush, no noise… exactly what we needed at the end of our Interrail trip.

I’ve realised I love slow train travel. No airport chaos, no rushing about — just time to sit, look out the window and actually enjoy the journey.

Planes might be quicker, but trains win every time for me. Calmer, quieter, and you don’t miss the world passing by.

The Mont Blanc Express is my favourite slow train (so far!). Rarely getting above 30km/hr, from the first steep climb just 10 minutes out of Martigny you know you are on something a bit special. Fabulous views in all directions, the line clings to the edge of the mountain with big drops at times and waterfalls practically crashing onto the track. As you descend into France the views to the Chamonix Aiguilles and Mont Blanc itself are magical. Its a real bonus that this train is included on the Interail pass.

I would really love to go with the “Mocanita” in Romania. I think it is such a pitoresque experience, through such beautiful scenery that it can’t be missed.

My best slow travel route so far is the journey from Oslo to Bergen in early May last year.  Jaw dropping scenery on our way to catch the Hurtigruten round trip to Kirkeness.

One of my favourite routes took me to the far north of Sweden, from Abisko to Narvik in Norway, where you can watch the breathtaking polar and snowy landscape glide past the window.

I really liked the Jacobite Steam Train (Hogwarts Express) which runs from April to October between Fort William and Mallaig, crossing the Glenfinnan Viaduct roughly 30–45 minutes after departure. I travelled on it once. Years later I travelled to the Glenfinnan Viaduct by road with my brother and mum to see the train cross the viaduct from outside as seen in Harry Potter. I still have fond memories of this train and the experience. I always recommend it. I also loved the trains in Switzerland between Geneve-Lausanne-Montreux, between Lausanne-Bern-Interlaken, and between Zurich-Lucerne-Lugano

Ich lieeebe Zugreisen. Die längste von Berlin - Lissabon. Auch Berlin - Paris - Barcelona fand ich premium, weil man da wirklich unkompliziert hinkommt (Lissabon is schon komplizierter).

Berlin - Italien (Venedig, Bologna, Verona), schönstes Panorama.
In Europa versuche ich nur Bahn zu fahren, Ein Ticket zu gewinnen wäre so toll

I personally prefer travelling through France, especially via Lyon, then continuing towards Marseille and along the Côte d’Azur. That route offers a perfect mix of beautiful landscapes, vibrant cities, good food,

and stunning coastal views, making the whole journey much more enjoyable.

My favorite route was the trip from Biarritz/France to Faro/Portugal in 1982 - a wonderful trip all through Spain and an astonishing stopover at 2 am in Sevilla in a totally crowed station pub and met so nice people that I´ll never forget that night. An adventure you can only experience by Interrail
