My favourite train route is from St. Moritz to Tirano with the Rhaetian railway. You have to do in the summer time on a sunny day, when they have the yellow waggons in the rear part with the open top part so that you will be sitting in the fresh air. In the first part of the journey you see wonderful lakes and mountains, from Alp Grüm to Miralago, you have an astonishing view over the whole Puschlav valley on the lake of Poschiavo while the train is descending in serpentines. It's only a short trip, but do wonderful. Get off at Le Prese and walk around the lake, take a swim, take some ice cream at Poschiavo and enjoy the same view on your way back. It's so amazing!

I think my favourite train ride was during my first interrail, I took the night train between Budapest and Bucharest, it was my first night train ever, and we woke up in the snowy mountains, to the gentle noise of the train on the tracks. It was magical! I took more "scenic" trains since, but this first experience will always be a fond memory

I see nobody talking about my beautiful Portugal yet! The Douro slow train Line (from Porto to Pocinho along the river) is magnificent :) Definitely on my bucket list, even though it’s on my own country!

The route from Italy via the Brennerpass to Austria and onwoards to Germany. Amazing landscape and mountains whereever you look!

I love the train from Arnhem to Zwolle. It's thankfully close to my home, I've traveled the world but in covid times we had to explore what was nearby and I discovered there's so much beauty in our own surroundings

Slovenian railroad along the Sava river. I also have a wish to go with train across Swiss Alps and Norvegian Flåm Railway.

It would have to be by steam train. The Jacobite line which is a 84-mile trip from Fort William to Mallaig. It passes Ben Nevis and the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct as featured on Harry Potter!

Bucharest to Chisinau was a memorable experience: it’s the closest to time traveling I’ve ever been in Europe.

My favourite journey so far is the one i take daily in the regional train in Lisbon to go to work, since I’ve never traveled in europe by train :’( but I plan to backpack in europe this summer, first tin the mediterranean and then in scandinavia going down to central europe, so an interrail week pass and Bart’s book would be an amazing help for my adventure :))

It's difficult to pick only one! But I can say that among my favorites is certainly the Arvika 🇸🇪—Perpignan 🇫🇷 train journey I've taken many times, from Sweden to France, through Denmark and Germany, from my school to my mother's home. ♡

It's a very beautiful trip, with two night trains, starting in the cold but sunny region of Värmland, with its lakes and pine‑forest landscapes and its wonderul sunsets, and ending in the warm and sunny region of the Pyrénées-Orientales, French Catalonia, with the last part of the journey surrounded by water — in the middle of coastal lagoons, with the Mediterranean Sea not far away.

The next slow‑travel trip I hope to make is Arvika 🇸🇪—Vilnius 🇱🇹, followed by Vilnius—Mont-Dauphin–Guillestre 🇫🇷!

My favorite train road is the West Highland Line. This was the road I took for my first ever solo travel, and those were the most stunning landscapes I ever had the chance to witness. It still makes me emotional when I think about it!

In Europe my favorite slow travel route would be Inlandsbanan in Sweden, you get to see so much of the beautiful landscapes.
Outside of Europe I wish to one day take the train from Germany, where I am from, to Vietnam, making a bunch of stops and exploring along the way. As we Germans say: “Der Weg ist das Ziel” (the journey is the goal)

It’s hard to decide but I have to say that every train that passes the alps has a special fascination on me. So maybe the train ride from Zürich to Innsbruck would be a favorite.

I have not been on an interrail trip yet but I would looove to bring along my friend on a trip around Switzerland on scenic trains and just enjoy nature and the beautiful views. A long trip around Norway in Bergen sounds like a wonderful idea too.

This is going to be very cliche, but Interlaken to Lucern was more stunning than expected!

I am always travelling with my family. The last trips through different countries were all beautiful but Italy was the best. Turino, Bologna and Verona have stolen our hearts. We hopen to visit them again.

My dream is to travel by train from Lisbon to Ho Chi Minh City. This journey has been lived in my mind for years because it was my father’s lifelong project. Throughout my youth, he meticulously planned every stop and shared stories of the great adventure that awaited him. Life eventually got in the way, and he was never able to go, but he passed that dream down to me!!

During my 2023 exchange in Switzerland, I took an unforgettable train journey from the peaks of Thun through the winding Gotthard Pass down to Milan. Watching the Alpine glaciers transition into the vineyards of northern Italy was the ultimate "slow travel" experience and a perfect break from my studies.

Tough question but my favourite route would be from Amsterdam to Copenhague for several reasons :

1- Beautiful and stunning different landscapes ending with a superb view of the sea when arriving near Denmark

2- Unique experience whilst travelling where I got to know a family also on Interrail at that moment and had very enjoyable ride and stay thanks to them !

The next train journey on my wishlist would be going through Austria to Serbia then to the Balkian countries such as Montenegro or Albania ! These are hidden gems of Europe I’ve never had the chance to discover 😊

Thank you Mr. Giepmans and thank you Interrail !

I like the trainride through the black forest or along the Spanish coast.

I think the very top of my wishlist would be getting a train coast-to-coast right the way across Canada. That or the fjords and mountains of the length of Norway. It’s so hard to choose!
