My dream train travel Would be to start from Portugal and go all the way to china. I’ve heard you have to build your way up to Russia (not the best timing…) and then you can take a 4 DAYS train to China before coming back to France through center asia and eventually Turki🇹🇷, traveling through Greece and the balkans!!

My favourite trip so far is Munich to Bologna then onto Turin through the Brenner Pass

I was memorised for hours. It was a dream come true!

I would love to travel through Poland to Latvia stopping off in a few places.

This is really hard to decide! My favourite slow travel train route so far was probably the West Highland Line. From Fort William to Mallaig is auch a beautiful journey!

Next on my wighlist... Too many😅 I'd LOVE to go to Sicily by train, using the train ferry. If I'm being less realistic, the Orient Express or the Trans-Sibirian railway.

The next train trip on my wish list is from Oslo to Bergen with a break in Finse and a bike tour to Myrdal, to explore the beautiful landscape along the Rallarvegen.

my favorite train ride definitely was the train from Stockholm to Narvik, the beautiful nature of Norway and Sweden was just stunning!

Last year we went to the north of Norway. We departed from the Netherlands and traveled through Germany, Denmark, and Sweden. The final destination was Narvik in Norway. The trip was wonderful! Traveling on the little train of Inlandsbanan was breathtaking. Highly recommended. For the coming summer, a train trip to Greece is on our wish list with a crossing from Bari (Italy) to Greece. We are looking forward to it! Who knows, we might run into you..…

My favorite segment would be Zurich - Milan which is probably one of the rides I did the most, as it opens the doors to Italy for me. Starting by the lakes of Zurich and Zug, then diving through the mountains in the Gotthard tunnel (and the ride is even more scenic when the tunnel is closed), then reappearing in Ticino towards more lakes and finally the border to Italy. Everything is beautiful all the way up to entering Milan! And from there any direction in Italy is possible. This route always gets me hyped :)

My favorite slow travel route is one I've done a few times when traveling from the Netherlands to Austria. At one point, you cross Switzerland and you travel along several beautiful blue lakes where people are swimming and sailing in summer. Just thinking about it makes me wish summer was here already :)

My favourite journey (so far I hope) has been Garmisch-Partenkirchen from Belgium during winter season.

A trip which I wanted to do for so long: from Stuttgart to Istanbul, via Bukarest, Budapest and Sofia!

My favourite slow travel route was my journey through Europe from Scandinavia down to Southern Europe. I started in Stockholm and travelled all the way to Rome and Madrid. I loved how the trip let me experience so many cultures, landscapes and atmospheres, from calm Nordic nature to vibrant southern cities. Even though I covered a lot of ground, travelling by train made it feel relaxed and intentional, and the journey itself became a big part of the experience. 🚆✨

I’ve done many great rail journeys around the world. Next on my list is to go through Denmark and up to Sweden to visit my cousin. I would also like to spend at least a month in Italy travelling around on the trains.

My favorite slow travel train journey has been from Brig to Chur via three regional trains last week :)

My dream train route would be across the Mediterranean; starting from the south of Italy up to the north soaking in the beautiful Italian landscapes and culture, then heading off to the French Riviera and the aesthetic countrysides and towns of the south of France, then into the mountainous and green north of Spain into the culturally rich Andalusia and ending the trip in the south of Portugal!

My dream train journey would be somewhere in Norway, travelling through the fjords and mountains. I’ve seen photos of the landscapes and they look absolutely breathtaking. I’d love to experience that kind of raw, untouched nature while sitting comfortably on a train, watching the scenery slowly pass by. For me, slow travel means disconnecting from stress and really immersing myself in the environment, and I can’t think of a better place for that than Norway.

The most unexpected trip I’ve done was Hamburg to Copenhagen, we got on the ferry with the train and we didn’t know it. It was magical, both the realization of being in a boat and then the trip on the boat across the Baltic Sea.

I’d like to travel down the east coast of Italy to the southern tip of the country, maybe stopping off at one or two towns on the way down. I travelled the west coast down to Sicily a few years ago, staying at the beautiful resort of Tropea which broke up the journey and provided a welcome break.

My favourite travel route so far has been the train from Lucern to Interlaken ! The most gorgeous lakes, landscapes and adorable village can be seen through the window. Everyone was taking in the beautiful view, which is why this train route is one of my favourites, because I felt connected to other travellers. <3

Right in the middle of Interrail’s golden anniversary in 2022, my brother and I leave Lisbon (Portugal) to embark on an adventure across Europe. The unforgettable experience makes it really hard to answer the question. But if I absolutely have to, the part that surprised me the most was winding through the heights of the Pyrenees aboard the classic Train Jaune and then descending along the beautiful Côte d’Azur to Genova with modern regional trains. Mountains and sea, I recommend it to everyone.
