Surely the best route for me must have been going along the Italian West coast up to Cote d'Azur, starting from Florence to Pisa, then following the coast through La Spezia (visiting Cinque Terre towns like Riomaggiore and Corniglia on the way), Genua, Menton and Nice with the possibility of visiting Monaco as well. The train goes along the coast and there surely is a lot to look at!

I can highly recommend visiting Luxembourg by train! It’s such an underrated but beautiful and lush green country (in summer at least).

The next big train adventure i’m going to embark is getting from northern Germany to Bilbao, Spain for my Erasmus. I’m so exited on how this adventure and the route be.

I had an amazing time and made great friends! Im looking foreward to exploring the next country!

Coming from Denmark, I virtually always pass by Hamburg on the way further south, and on that route, passing over the bridge in Rendsburg is a definite highlight! Almost thought I missed it the last time (two weeks ago) because of a prolonged toilet visit, so when I came back to my seat and saw that we were still ascending the bridge, I was very relieved!

Hi,

I am dreaming of traveling from Norway to Italy. Maybe through Prague and on the new train line that just opened? I am equally exited to be on the direct route from Oslo to Copenhagen. Something I have been waiting on for a long time. I went to Italy/Rome with my grandmother as a teenager and It feels allmost important to visit Italy as an adult. Not just Rome but to see the whole cuntry. Hopefully with my partner and hopefully to see some theatre, eat good food and hike. From Copenhagen I bellive we’ll travel to Hamburg, then to Prague and then a direct rout to Munic. From there I belive we take the first train in to Italy and moves us slowly down from there.  Maybe trough Venice, Verona, Bergamo, Como, Parma, Bologna, Ravenna, Florence, Ancona, Pescara and finally to Rome. Hopefully the first trip is two days and then we have five to spend in Italy.

Best wishes, M

My favourite slow travel was a few weeks again when trying interrailing for the first time. I went from Genova to le pradet along the cost. Beautiful views!
my next adventure is probably going to be to the east of Europe like Prague and Budapest ❤️

My favorite slow travel train route was definitely the one I did in Norway with my scout group. We traveled by train from Oslo to Voss, passing through beautiful landscapes with lakes and the characteristic red houses.

My favorite slow train route is from Lyon to Geneve because of the beautiful scenery.

My favourite journey is along the Lac Leman in Switzerland, especially the part from Lausanne to Montreux, through the gorgeous vineyards of Lavaux!

One of my favorite train journeys to take is the route from Budapest, Hungary to Zurich, Switzerland. It is a 12 hour journey that starts in the beautiful station of Budapest-Keleti and first takes you through the beautiful landscapes of Hungary before crossing to Austria, where you stop in Vienna and Salzburg before journeying even further into the alps and stopping at St. Anton and other smaller towns in the Austrian and then Swiss alps. I‘ve taken this train multiple times and it‘s just always so amazing to see the changing landscapes and even wheather (in April, I started in spring in Budapest and traveled through snow in Austria, there were people taking their skis into the train). The time passes beautifully on this route!

When the East Coast line to Edinburgh swings north of Durham, the cathedral is just the beginning of what lies ahead. The train hugs the beautiful Northumberland coast with the sea right there beside the track and the wide empty beaches stretching out before you, until Alnmouth appears suddenly: a huddle of colourful houses perched on the hill. This stretch never fails to lift my spirits.

I have been trying to convince my girlfriend and now fiance to travel by train with me and for years she said no. But now, finally she said yes(in more then one way!). She said that she would love to do a interrail trip through England visiting old pubs, enjoying the villages and make an escape to nature. So of course I started planning immediately and we are heading out in the winter of this year! We start in our home country the Netherlands and will then move through Schotland and the United Kingdom, visiting places like oxford, north Hampshire, the northern cliffs in schotland and Edinburgh. With this ticket we can expand our journey to include Ireland! A place I have been wanting to visit since I was little. The nature there has always excited me!

I personally prefer travelling through France, especially via Lyon, then continuing towards Marseille and along the Côte d’Azur. That route offers a perfect mix of beautiful landscapes, vibrant cities, good food,

and stunning coastal views, making the whole journey much more enjoyable.

Love travelling through France so much as well. From Berlin it’s easy to go to Marseille by train. I do this a lot.

We had a great time travelling from The Netherlands down to Bucharest in Romania and back. Especially the train lines passing by the Carpathian mountain are beautiful.

The best one is between Oravita and Anina in the Romanian Banat, called the Romanian Simmering.

Mon itinéraire de voyage rêvé est celui autour du cercle article, reliant la Suède a la Norvège près des îles Lofoten. J'espère pouvoir le réaliser cet été.

The most beautiful train-ride between was from Lyon to Barcelona: it was my first time in Southern France and to take the train all along the cost was truly magic! In the future, I would love to go to Eastern Europe: Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary….

My favourite train ride so far has been the Bernina Express from Tirano to Chur. The fact that the train goes over these crazy mountains and the view along the way are why. Next I would like to travel from Stockholm to Abisko to start hiking the Kungsleden and arrive there with a good conscience :)

My favourite journey has been the train ride from Inverness to York. After having had the most amazing time in Edinburgh and Inverness, meeting lovely people and seeing many beautiful places, the train ride felt very special to me. As we left the train station, the evening sun cast a beautiful light over everything. :) Cannot wait to get going again!
