It is difficult to name one, since most of them are still imaginary - I have so much to explore still! It would be from my home town Stockholm to somewhere in Greece, with my daughter. We would travel and talk, look and explore and then reach the white shores of the blue seas surrounding so many of the greek shores, dive into the azure waters and explore the shells and the sands. The train ride would become a part of the journey, not only a transportation. We would travel through so many countries, towns and villages, exploring, tasting and takin in the world. Thank you for this oportunity

The trip between domodossola and locarno has two countries is relatively short and great views of the alps

My dream slow travel route would definitely be the Across the Alps journey. I completely fell in love with the Alps this summer—the mountains, the fresh air, the colours, even the smell… there’s a sense of freedom there that’s hard to describe. They’ve always called me, but experiencing them for the first time made it even more special, and now I’d love to explore all their different faces by train, slowly taking it all in.

Travelling from France to Spain through the beautiful Pyrénées, or from Italy to Austria / Germany through the Alps. Amazing landscapes each time you cross mountains!

My favorite journey is any journey I am doing in the Swiss Alps. The mountains are beautiful in any weather, and I am excited and anxious about the adventure that lies ahead of me.

I would like to travel from St.Moritz to Tirano.

I lived my trip from Germany to Scotland and to explore the highlands by train. The train tracks go through scenery without any cars or roads.

My favorite train ride (and one I take often) is from Pisa to Rome. You can admire the changing scenery, the sea that seems to touch the tracks near Grosseto... The trip is long enough to read a book, lose yourself in your thoughts while watching the scenery outside the window, or meet new people.

My next dream holiday is a big city break by train. I live on the west coast of Norway, and getting to Germany, France etc. is mostly done by plane. My dream is to be able to go to Copenhagen, Berlin or Amsterdam and going by train most of the way.

I’ve truly enjoyed riding the ‘inlandsbanan’ in Sweden. It’s a single track through woods and by lakes; very pretty, and with regular slow-downs to not hit any deer.
With the Northern hospitality it was truly a magnificent experience!

Oslo to Bergen

Take a lot of time to the stations, because there is lot of check-points. Notice, that ir-/eurail-ticket is not suitable for every trains.

My favorite train trip was from Germany to Rome, then Napoli and finally Palermo, then to London to visit my son, from there to The Hague for another family visit, and finally to Marseille. After two months, it was great to get back to Germany again…  but I do miss the slow travel, the espresso and the great conversations we had with other travelers and the local people.

My favourite journey is made difficult to choose because I’ve taken so many trains with Interrail, but some stayed in my dream more than others. I would say the scenic route between Geneva and Bern with the Alps just across the Leman and the little Swiss towns in the foreground. The classic but uncomparable Oslo to Bergen, bringing you literally to the glacier at altitude. Or the great Berlin to Prague through Saxony Switzerland and the Elbe Valley.

Flåmsbanan - this was an amazing trip. In fact, so many train journeys in Norway!

My favorite train journey has been from south Germany, Stuttgart, where i was visiting my long distance boyfriend to Sweden, Stockholm where i was living abroad for one year. It took 26 hours and i even got to stop in Berlin for a few hours and enjoy a kebab with a friend living there. Saw the most beautiful sunset over north Germany.

My dream travel would be to go to Turkey by train as my grandma did it when she was young and she always tells me no many stories about it.

My favourite slow travel route is the Bernina Pass. The views are unreal, with glaciers, lakes, and dramatic alpine scenery all along the way. It’s not a transport, it’s an experience.
