Doing an interrail trip has been on my bucket list for so long!

Our dream interrail route with my boyfriend would be to discover the beautiful norwegian landscapes.

We would start in Stavanger and then discover Oslo, Bergen (so many people told us about how beautiful this city is!), then we would visit Trondheim and finish our trip in Bodo :)

Fingers crossed xx!!

My Favorite route was from Vienna - Austria to Geneve - Switzerland, such a nice train route, you could watch the Mountains and beautiful landscape from the Train.

My favorite journey was from Paris to Interlaken, because of the beautiful view and the comfort of the train.

My favourite kind of train journey is one where the landscape changes gradually — that’s why I’d love to travel across Europe from Spain to Central Europe by train. There’s something special about having hours to look outside the window, listen to music, and feel the transition between cultures and places.

The Rauma line in Norway, from Dombas to Andalsnes. Beautiful scenery through mountains and valleys.

During our first interrail trip with my brother we were trying to go as much as possible with limited days but my favorite train route was from Vienna to Monterosso al Mare. Near the border to Italy, it was like a dream i had when i was kid and influenced by Heidi. The nature, green meets with blue lake, the slow life people live, i was just mesmerized by it. I would really like to go especially to there this time!

Jag älskar att resa genom Alperna med långsamma tåg.

I come from Southern Italy and I feel Mediterranean to the core. Embracing this identity has allowed me to see my culture as something broader than just my bubble, but as something powerful that goes beyond regional or national borders and that brings me closer to people from other nationalities, because we share historical roots and our cultures reciprocally influenced eachothers trough the centuries. So, I really wish to explore Europe traveling along the coasts from the Balcans to the Iberic Peninsula to see all the features of the mediterranenan culture and discover new traditions

Got to be EC163/164 Transalpin between Zurich and Graz. Amazing scenery and esoteric stock forming the train. Slow and lovely journey. Not done if over the full length but would love to!

My favourite slow travel train route that I’ve done so far was probably the sleeper train from Brussels to Salzburg. I have always wanted to check out a night train and it was a funny experience! Also I hadn’t realised that you can feel dizzy like seasick after being on a train for so long.

Poprad to Bratislava, train so slow it went backwards!

My ideal Interrail journey would exploring Switzerland for the mountains  then travel north through changing landscapes towards Norway’s fjords and dramatic nature.
Or….finally taking that trip from the south of the UK all the way up to Scotland. Although...although I feel I need to explore the Balkan, too.
So much to see, and so much to do!

Was so pleasantly surprised by the train from Berlin to Prague. Gorgeous landscape passing through the Elbe Valley and the old Czech train had a lovely old fashioned feel to it, especially the beautiful dining car where unfortunately my children got chocolate sauce all over the pristine white table cloth, much to the waiter’s irritation!

The Bernina Express in 2017. Simply an unreal journey through the Alps, an incredible feat of engineering, and breath-taking views. I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to have taken that journey with my now-wife, just after we left university.

My favourite slow train was Bergenbanan in Norway, stunning views!

My favourite slow travel train route is the journey from Lyon to Turin on the Frecciarossa/TGV through the Alps. It’s a beautiful paradox: sitting in a high‑speed train that moves at a relatively gentle pace (80-100km/h), slowly climbing through stunning landscapes. That makes it possible to truly enjoy the surroundings and breathtaking views into the Alps.

So many to choose from… but i’m going with Zagreb to Split, the night train. We rolled in from Budapest 30 mins after the train to Split was scheduled to leave. But they had waited for us - and all we had to do was cross the platform! Cheap couchettes for two, and a bumpy ride, and yet i slept like a baby… but not before admiring the thunderstorms lighting up the dramatic mountains south of Zagreb. In the morning, we rolled slowly along the coast into Split, watching the Adriatic shimmering blue.

We are looking forward to the West Bank journey up the Rhine from Mainz to Koblenz this summer - great scenery, lovely villages,  and the chance to combine hopping on and off the train with romantic boat trips across the river - it sounds like a match made in heaven and we can’t wait

My wive and I have been planning on travelling by train through the Swiss Mountains for a while but still haven’t made it there so making that dream come true by winning those tickets would be amazing ☺️✨🌈

It would be amazing to do a roundtrip in the Nordics! One of the routes I would like to experience is The Kinnekullebanan line in Sweden. 😎

In 2025, I spent a couple of hours to join Bilbao and Santander. I did enjoy that line very much. I am now looking forward to ride the train between Belgrade and Bar, in a couple of weeks, during my 2 months trip in the Balkans.

Probably the way from Geneva, Italy via France to Barcelona, Spain, all along the coast, the sea always in view from the train window. 🌊☀️

My next wishlist journey would be Venice to Split. I love the idea of crossing three countries while staying close to the Adriatic coast the whole way. It's a route I've always wanted to do, to stop in small coastal towns along the way. Travelling by train just feels like a much better way to actually see a place.

There are many journeys on my bucket list. Currently I’m focused on train travel to Sicily. I also would like to travel from Portugal back to Czech Republic using the trains. Bit worried about the frequent strikes in France, though :)
