It felt calm like a night journey should. The train moved quietly along Lake Geneva, with lights from small towns reflecting on the water and the mountains barely visible in the dark. Inside, it was relaxed and almost silent, just the steady motion of the train in the background. It’s a short ride, but at night it feels completely different, slower, more peaceful, and a bit special.

My favorite journey by train was from the Netherlands to Istanbul. All the stops are great cities to stay (Muenchen, Vienna, Sofia or via another route by Muenchen, Prague, Budapest, Bucharest). It is nice to see the influence of different periods throughout history (Ottoman, Soviet and the Roman empire). Hope to see this again next summer!

Thank you for the opportunity!

My favourite train journey is from Paris to Prague because it was my first time on a sleeper train, and I was really excited to be travelling to my destination :).

My favorite train trip was from Wrocław to Dresden. I enjoyed watching the snow covered forests, fields, and small towns through the window during the journey. It was a calm and comfortable trip, and I would love to travel there again someday.

While quite boring, because it is in my home country and I‘ve taken this route many times: following the Rhine river from Bonn down to Mainz will always be my favourite in any weather.

i have been dreaming of going from zagreb to split, ive been so curious about going to croatia but also italy and Norway i have been on top of my list ❤️ I sailed from the netherlands to south africa 2 years ago and i am now ready for a new adventure that goes slow, by train.

My favourite slow travel journey is the Bernina Express. Going from warm Italian Tirano to the snow of the Bernina Pass. I love the zig-zag section where you climb above the Val Poschiavo.

I loved the route from Prague to Budapest. The nature was great to look at and its the perfect amount of time to take a nap, play games etc. Also I love all the train rides on the coast of italy and France where you can see the sea.

I’d love to take a train from the Italian Dolomites through to Slovenia. Both regions offer some of the most stunning mountain scenery in Europe, and connecting them by rail seems like the perfect way to soak in the changing landscapes.

My favorite has been a simple regional train ride through Tuscany. No rush, just the window open and the landscape unfolding slowly: rolling hills, cypress trees, tiny villages frozen in time. It’s the kind of journey where the destination doesn’t really matter you’re fully present in every passing moment.
But my dream trip? A long overnight train through the Scottish Highlands, waking up at dawn with mist rising over lakes and mountains. A quiet, almost intimate journey, where the train feels like home and the world outside moves gently by.

We have made a number of journeys in Europe so far. We particularly loved travelling by train from the east of England to Font-Romeu in the Pyrenees, with the final leg on le petit train jaune - beautiful views.

Norway is a dream I've cherished for a long time. I often imagine myself on the train with the greenery outside the window, a slow life, and days spent reading books by Scandinavian authors.

The journey from Vienna- Slovenia-trieste. Going through tunnels in the mountains for miles towards Ljubljana with  the windows open to then decending down into sunny Trieste was a unreal!

The line between Nice and Ventimiglia is picturesque

The 'Corona' overnight train from Budapest to Brasov. Old style sleeping cars with opening windows, a dining car with food cooked on board, waking up to bucolic rural scenes in Romania, before arriving at beautiful Brasov's atmospheric station.

I will be going on my first Interrail trip this year and I’m the most excited for my train journey from Zurich to Interlaken because of the beautiful views that I will see and I am hoping it will be the most amazing view that people say it is which I will get to see it before my very eyes.

One of my bucket list train rides is the Salzburg to Innsbruck via Bischofshofen journey for its stunning views!

My favourite slow travel route was the one from geneve to paris. It was last days of January and everything was covered by the snow, it was magical. But the funniest was a night train with the beds, from copenaghen to berlin, the space was not a lot and since my friend and I are quite tall we couldn’t fit properly. In the cabin with us there was also a dog with its owner, a bit scary at night but a fun memory.

A beautiful single rail winding around the mountain ride from Vienna, Austria towards the southern border near Italy and Slovenia - stunning views and unbelievably peaceful!

Choosing a favorite is tough, but the Finnish sleeper train from Tampere to Rovaniemi takes the top spot for me.

There is something truly surreal about drifting off in a cozy cabin and waking up to a snow-covered "Disneyland" landscape outside your window as you cross the Arctic Circle.
