If i am a french citizen but live in the US can I buy interrail?

You could get Interrail but there's no advantage: you could travel on 2 days max in your country of "residence" (would be France for you).Get Eurail, it's exactly the same price converted (one in USD and one in €). Use your American passport with it.

Est-ce que vous parlez du train de nuit ? Regardez sur le site : https://www.europeansleeper.eu/Sinon les dates sont importantes. Les réservations sont requises entre la Belgique/les Pays-Bas et l’Allemagne depuis le mois de juin. Elles sont disponibles sur le site des chemins de fer autrichiens (OBB) pour 3€ par personne.

Indeed it can be confusing.OBB is definitely a valid option. Rail Europe (desktop version) works for me: its main benefit is that seat selection is available.

OBB Nightjet from Augsbourg to Venice / construction work/ 11july

You’ll stay on the same night train as it’s diverted = longer journey. Replacement buses will run during the day between Villach and Italy for daytime trains using that route.The closure is from 11th July to 28th July. Hard to find data online (yet) but there’s a short notice on OBB website.The night train should become available once the new timetable is settled.Daytime trains will run as usual via the Brenner route. For example:EC Venezia S. Lucia - München Hbf 15:35 - 22:27 ICE München Hbf - Augsburg Hbf 22:46 - 23:15Of course there are plenty of earlier departures with an extra change in Verona if you prefer.

Non, il n'y a pas besoin d'activer le pass. Le site interrail.eu a très souvent des bugs...Quelles sont les dates et trains que vous voulez réserver ? Zentralbahn vs Bernina Express (Switzerland - Italy)

No, Gornergrat is not included in Interrail. No discount either. Views are incredible so you simply walk around a bit on the rocks.If you don't want to pay you could walk a bit from the village but it won't be the same: the village is at the bottom of the valley.Last note: you do not have to decide in advance. Tickets have a fixed price and cannot sell out. So you could travel to Zermatt by train in the morning, check the little village and decide if you want to go up (considering it costs hundreds of CHF extra*).---The panorama carriages (those with big windows) on the Bernina Express require a 36 CHF reservation. They are always full and loud. Instead my suggestion (and I'm not alone!) is to either:- board the regular carriages attached at the front: reservation-free, less busy, pull-down windows = better for pictures!- or the hourly regional trains along the same route: same pull-down windowsBernina is doable but it will be a long day and you should leave early. global pass days utilization

Last-minute tickets are gonna be very expensive: expect to pay at least 100€ per person for the day you can't use the pass.Now compare fares on trenitalia.com and italotreno.it and decide.Yes the 13€ passholder reservations will quickly add up. Consider taking a regional train between Verona and Milan, it doesn't take much longer.

Zentralbahn vs Bernina Express (Switzerland - Italy)

Blausee is a tourist trap: there are so many more beautiful lakes in the Swiss Alps for free.I would only go to Zermatt. Travel one-way via the old slow route and back with the fast Lötschberg Base Tunnel.- Spiez - Brig hourly RE (via Kandersteg) -> slow- Visp - Spiez IC train -> fastFor a true high mountain rocky/snowy experience you should go to Gornergrat. It's the only time possible during your trip.---The Bernina railway might be doable but will it be a pleasant experience? The railway is stunning but after 15h on trains will you remember anything good?I wouldn't stop in St. Moritz. Definitely do not pay extra for the loud and full panorama carriages. Either board the regular carriages at the front of the Bernina Express or simply the hourly regional trains along the same route.Note the engineering works between Tirano and Milan. The full timetable isn't online yet. Check back in a week or two and decide at that point.

OBB Nightjet from Augsbourg to Venice / construction work/ 11july

The Tarvisio railway between Austria and Italy is closed for engineering works for 15 days in July. Night trains are rerouted via Brenner and still run.The new timetables have just been published, expect to receive an email from ÖBB in the coming days, max 1-2 weeks.The departure is indeed earlier and the arrival later. More time to sleep! :)

Supplement from Antwerpen to Breda

Depends on which route. There are definitely no supplements to travel in the Netherlands.A supplement is required on long-distance trains between Austria and Italy though (Brenner and Tarvisio): 10€ 2nd class, 15€ 1st class.

Parsi to Frankfurt DB Reservation Changes

I'm not sure your travel agent nor Eurail will be helpful honestly.DB couldn't have sold you a valid passholder fare, only the invalid 4.90€ fare. You should disregard that booking.Have you booked something else? Where? How much? It should be 18€ per person. Do you have a PDF incl. seat numbers and mentioning the 18€ fare?On Rail Europe you should check one train at a time so Paris - Karlsruhe only (as the 15:55 departure is heading towards Munich and doesn't stop in Frankfurt).Due to engineering works that day only some ICEs stop in Frankfurt (Main) Hbf: there is notice on DB Navigator.Trains from Paris to Frankfurt terminate in Mannheim, the 15:55 departure isn't affected as it's heading towards Munich though.

Executive is simply not available to passholders. You can't book it.

Do routes appearing on book-reservations but not in planner exist?

The summer timetables for some Italian regional trains have just been published and it's possible that there are some discrepancies in the data.Rail Planner is updated every other week (and works in offline mode) and eurail.com twice a week I think. In a week or two the times should match.For actual planning it's always better to double check with the railway company and DB Navigator/bahn.com (connected to the European database and updated almost instantly).About your route: there are frequent reservation-free regional trains and slightly faster IC trains (3€ required reservation, available through Rail Europe to avoid fees).https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm

You could always change your Eurostar reservation for 15€ if something suits you better: it must be same route and the passholder quota must be available.I’d definitely leave the UK earlier so you can go further than Brussels on Day 1, especially if your goal is Scandinavia. For example on 14th May you could do Peterborough - London - Amsterdam - Osnabrück - Hamburg and sleep there. Or even board the SJ night train to Stockholm after dinner!Peterborough - King’s Cross 06:10 - 07:00 Eurostar St. Pancras - Amsterdam Centraal 08:16 - 13:15 35€ IC Amsterdam Centraal - Osnabrück Hbf 13:59 - 16:51 ICE Osnabrück Hbf - Hamburg Hbf 17:21 - 19:14 dinner SJ Hamburg Hbf - Stockholm C 22:03 - 09:57At 10am the following morning morning you’re in Stockholm. :)Night trains aren’t cheap but they’re a convenient way to travel. I’d take one on Stockholm - Germany (or the way around) for sure as otherwise you simply double back along the same route… and spend the whole time on trains as you’re worrying.

Sure, you get the same breakfast as on other NJs. :) They’re not that well isolated so you still hear people snoring/touching the buttons but it’s an amazing improvement privacy-wise.Right now the routes are:Vienna - Bregenz Vienna/Innsbruck - HamburgLater this year or from 2025 they should also run on Germany/Austria - Italy.

Yes there is a window and it’s a cool way to travel! I used a mini cabin on Vienna - Bregenz and I can definitely recommend the route: departure is quite late so you have enough time for dinner and arrival isn’t too early. This route is also subsidised: most of the time a mini cabin is 20€ with Interrail, 40€ without. Incredible value! :)

Some options between others:24th May: Snälltåget : 499 SEK (37£) for a couchette. Stockholm C - Berlin Hbf 16:20 - 07:46. You arrive on Saturday morning in Berlin, you have the day to visit and on Sunday you do Berlin - Cologne - Brussels - London with sufficient margin. This would maximise your time in Scandinavia. 23/24th May: SJ 385 SEK (29£) for a couchette. 17:25 - 09:34 in Berlin (2-3h earlier in Hamburg).

Don’t worry, everything will go well as soon as the Eurostar/Channel obstacle is over!If you want to leave the UK as soon as possible you could take the last Eurostar on 13th May and spend the night in Brussels. Otherwise I’d take this route on 14th May morning:Peterborough - King’s Cross 06:10 - 07:00 Eurostar St. Pancras - Amsterdam Centraal 08:16 - 13:15 35€Then you could spend the night somewhere in the Netherlands. Utrecht is cool and cheaper than Amsterdam. Following day do Amsterdam/Utrecht - Osnabrück - Hamburg. Then follow your itinerary: I might suggest earlier trains so you don’t “wait” until 2pm doing nothing.For the way back take the Stockholm - Hamburg/Berlin night train to save time. Very convenient! Book in advance through sj.se. Since you’d have already visited Hamburg I’d head to Cologne straight away. Or you could take it all the way to Berlin and spend the night there of course!I’ll have a quick look at availability and update this post.There are plenty of Brussels

This night train stops in München Ost (East station) at 09:47 and München Hbf (main station) at 10:01.What you're saying would be fraud though. The ticket becomes void 15 min after departure if nobody shows up. So it's very likely that someone would board in Krakow for example.

The Interrail/Rail Planner app cannot book anything* but I guess it redirected you to interrail.eu? It’s a totally fine and valid option. The extra 2€ fee per person quickly add up but that’s the only thing, don’t worry.Here is a guide with the best places to book: https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm*you only log train journeys there. This can be done at any time prior to boarding.

Ferry Discount Not Working? Helsinki to Travemünde

This route is very expensive, even with the small passholder discount. It’s mainly aimed for trucks.I’d suggest taking a Stockholm - Turku/Helsinki ferry (Viking Line and others): those are a lot cheaper.
