Never too late as you can always get on: seat reservations are optional on British trains (but a good idea to make on a popular route such as Leeds - London).Right now they're available until 26th July (90 days in advance).Never book through ACPRail: British seat reservations are free of charge so you shouldn't use their service. Interrail/Eurail should also remove their mention altogether…I'd make them a few days in advance for peace of mind as it's free anyway. :)

Zentralbahn vs Bernina Express (Switzerland - Italy)

The Belle Époque trains runs twice a day between Zweisimmen and Montreux, you don't really have time for it. They're not old carriages but rather reconstructions. :)Personally to get to Venice I'd go via Lucerne and Zentralbahn:- hourly Interlaken Ost - Lucerne: reservation optional but not necessary, simply arrive a bit early. 08:04 - 09:55- IC21 Lucerne - Lugano 10:18 - 12:48 -> scenic route via the Old Gotthard Railway- RE Lugano - Milano Centrale 13:02 - 14:17- FR Milano Centrale - Venezia Mestre 14:45 - 17:00 13€Exactly the same option 2 hours later.

Zentralbahn vs Bernina Express (Switzerland - Italy)

Some confusion: Bern city ≠ Bernese Oberland. Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen,... are in the middle of the Berner Oberland region while Bern city is well outside.You're trying to do too much: how could you in a single day go to Bern, Blausee, Zermatt + watch the sunset there and still be back in Interlaken for the night? Impossible.Zermatt is a long day trip so leave early, be there by midday, go to Gornergrat and then take the train back to Interlaken before sunset. Otherwise spend the night there.No, you won't travel through snow on any of these routes. You might see snowcapped mountains but they'll be far away. The nearest to snow will be in Gornergrat: you'll see snowy and rocky landscapes.Looks like the works timetable has indeed just been published on Trenitalia. When the company sends the data to the European database it will appear a few days later on Rail Planner.The Bernina route is stunning but it's impossible to do it in a day and continue to Venice. Nighttrain traveling one

A sleeper compartment generally has 3 berths. If you book a single one only the lower berth is ready for you and the other two are folded, etc.Selecting the 3-people sleeper option is always cheaper as the costs are shared with the other 2 travellers. Sometimes only another person books and you end up being two. In rare cases you could be alone if it’s really outside peak season.People could board at a later stop than the departure station but usually you can’t board a sleeper at 2am.Do you have a precise date and route in mind? I can have a look.

Rail Europe: Interrail x Eurail Combination Seat Reservation

The Golden Pass Express isn’t that special, it might also be quite busy as it’s a tiny train and Spiez is the last stop = not worth it in my opinion. All trains have large windows and seats are aligned with them (aka no blind seats).Take any train for the short hop to Interlaken and sit on the left side. Trains run every 30 min with a straightforward change in Bern or Spiez.TER Strasbourg - Basel SBB 09:21 - 10:40 IC6 Basel SBB - Bern 10:56 - 11:56 IC81 Bern - Interlaken Ost 12:04 - 12:58Also note that there are engineering works planned this summer between Basel and Bern. Trains will still run but departures might be earlier. Check a few weeks before your trip (but definitely book the TGV well in advance).

No way for that train I’m afraid. You could get the 07:16 train for 10€ per person though. I’d do that, you can sleep slightly longer. :)(You could have booked through Rail Europe but Eurail didn’t give that info so it’s understandable… hopefully they advise people to do so soon.)

You’re not looking at the same date: 23rd July vs 26th July. French domestic TGVs have a 10€ limited fare first, then it increases to 20€ until the train sells out.Btw that train is already available for over a month but Eurail applies a stupid 90 days limit for no reason.(Please delete all personal info)

Calais to Dover by ferry

It’s shown as fully booked but I’m pretty sure it’s wrong. My guess is rather that P&O quietly stopped selling foot passenger tickets. In the last few months it was only a single departure per day while there are dozens of boats full of cars.Since Dunkerque is also unavailable to foot passengers you’ll probably have to leave from Dieppe... :(Let me find something.There is a midday departure from Dieppe for 39€ (DFDS). You could spend the night before in Rouen for example.

Which one do you mean? Berlin - Budapest is definitely available through OBB or Nightjet. It could be sold out though depending on the date.

What are you trying to book? Usually you can avoid their website (which rarely applies the Interrail discount anyway) by booking elsewhere: OBB, CD,...Otherwise it might work at a DB Reisezentrum too.

Reservation sleeping compartments to travel to bucharest - only seats can be reserved?

The obvious one is Vienna - Bucharest as it’s a very long journey otherwise + it’s cheap. I see it available on OBB: add Interrail as a discount and select one-way tickets. 84€ for a private sleeper compartment = ideal!Book as soon as your dates are set as it’s a popular route.Btw arrival is at 15:06 and not 14:06 as OBB claims (their planner can’t cope with time zones).

Can I buy a 1st class supplement when using a 2nd class Global Pass?

Depends. Romanian train tickets are available online: https://www.cfrcalatori.ro/en/For example only one night train between Budapest and Bucharest (the one which starts in Vienna) is available online for passholders while all 3 have tickets on https://jegy.mav.hu/ (Hungarian comapny).

Disregard that information. The whole page is wrong.There is no such supplement when travelling with Interrail/Eurail: whether for international or domestic journeys.Hop on, sit wherever you want and enjoy! :)

Can I buy a 1st class supplement when using a 2nd class Global Pass?

A supplement for crossing Germany will be over 200-300€, if even possible.Instead I'd get a shorter 1st class pass and then buy tickets after Budapest. The pass isn't good value in this area: tickets are too cheap and with the pass you need to go to a counter for reservations.

ICE High speed train punctuality?

Delays are frequent but 90 min margin is good enough. There are always later trains in case too.Since you won't sleep on the overnight ICE (lights are fully on, you have to watch your luggage at all times, etc.) let me suggest the Hamburg - Innsbruck night train. It is convenient and brand new!For example:- NJ Hamburg Hbf - Innsbruck Hbf 20:10 - 09:14 (+ delay) 214.60€ for a 4 people compartment- EC Innsbruck Hbf - Verona Porta Nuova 11:24 - 14:58 10€ passholder supplement + 3€ reservation- frequent reservation-free regional train to VeniceI understand that you want to save money/time with the night ICE but it won't be a pleasant experience, let me warn you.

The second night train is full (Salzburg - Venice) and do you really want to not sleep at all during the night? Those 5 min and 11 min connections are also almost impossible (thanks Rail Planner...).I looked at all options, don't worry. Apart from the Vienna - Verona NJ you could spend the night in Innsbruck or Villach.Option 1:- EC/bus Prague - Linz 14:21 - 18:06- RJX Linz - Innsbruck 18:45 - 21:44 or laterThen regional trains the following morning and you're in Venice by 2pm.Option 2:- same to Linz- RJX Linz - Salzburg 18:45 - 19:53 or later- ICE Salzburg - Villach 20:12 - 22:44 or later- night- D Villach - Udine 10:07 - 11:54- R Udine - Venice 12:09 - 13:59Also arrival at 2pm. Direct RJ from Villach a bit later.

Well then you have a single option as I said:- RJ to Vienna (3€ optional but very recommended reservation) and then NJ to Verona/Brescia.Departure at 14:44, unavoidable.Book ASAP. Otherwise you'd have to take Flixbus or similar... (not included in the pass).

So during the day? The easiest option to Venice would be:- EC Prague - Linz 06:21 - 10:06 (indicative) -> you'll change to a bus in Pregarten- enough margin- RJ Linz - Venice 12:19 - 20:05 3€ reservation + 10€ passholder supplement (available on ÖBB, add Eurail as a discount)Or via Innsbruck towards Verona:- same EC/bus to Linz- Linz - Innsbruck -> looking for a train that still has seats... (otherwise you'll likely stand). For example Westbahn 10:26 - 13:29 or 12:26 - 15:26 (2.90€) or a ÖBB Railjet- RJ Innsbruck - Verona 15:24 - 18:58 3€ reservation + 10€ passholder supplement- (RV Verona - Venice 19:22 - 20:50)If you want to leave later you'll have to spend the night before Verona/Venice.

If you want to spend the night on a night train: do Prague - Vienna - Verona (or even Milan). This bypasses the buses.Or spend the night in South Tyrol (for example) and finish the travel the next day. Either using a second pass day or buying cheap regional tickets.About your other issue/question: the Zurich - Paris TGV is available on 3rd May. Book through Rail Europe to avoid fees (29€ reservation).

You could get 2 couchettes on the Vienna - La Spezia service, leaving in Verona at 05:51 (2 x 59.90€). You'd have to leave Prague at 14:44.Feel free to continue further if you want to sleep longer.Also note a disruption on your original plan: trains are partially replaced by buses between Prague and Linz as a temporary bridge collapsed today. Rail Planner won't give you that info so always double check with the national company (here ÖBB).EDIT: this is the only option. Book ASAP. Or spend the night along the way like in Bolzano/Bozen.
