The travel day will be lost, whether a journey is linked or not.You should activate a pass day at a time, when you arrive at the train station for example.
Please give us the train number/route and we’ll be able to help better. It’s impossible that trains are sold out so far in advance but there might be other issues.For example the international AVE trains run by RENFE are unavailable online. You may get reservations for them on the day on the platform but it’s a bit risky. You should look at alternatives.(Hopefully the RENFE issue is solved one day...)
Let me also mention that TGV reservations bought on Rail Europe are 100% refundable until 30 min after departure.That way I'd book those TGV reservations for peace of mind but feel free to go to a counter in Barcelona when you arrive and ask for the direct train there.(França station is always less busy than Sants btw.)
Depends whether you get tickets or passholder reservations. The latter are available in many websites and onboard you must show both a valid pass day and the reservations.The price above would be using a pass day.
Please have some margin in the first place. All German trains are late basically.If you're about to miss a connection speak to staff onboard the late train. They might be able to issue a new reservation free of charge or at least give a proof of delay.Otherwise speak to staff at the station (queues) or worst case, on the platform. They might allow you onboard without seat guarantee if the train is full. Do not try to board without speaking to anyone as you might face fines.But please try to avoid these unpleasant experiences in the first place. I'd have 1h margin before the TGV/ICE to Paris.
They will probably hold the connection if needed yes.There are 2 trains an hour towards Brussels anyway so not an issue if you were to miss the first one.
Ah it would be good if eurail.com is able to sell this train. Check back in a few days, they seem to have technical issues at the moment.RailEurope can sell tickets but not passholder reservations since RENFE is illegally preventing their sales through other parties (it's complicated).Spain is the worst country for Eurail, you've discovered it...

Let me suggest:- London 3 nights- Paris 3 nights- Strasbourg (popular Christmas market) 1-2 nights ?- somewhere in Switzerland 2 nights- Bernina Railway into Italy, the most beautiful way to enter the country- Milan 1-2 nights (optional)- Florence 2 nights- Rome 3 nights- Sorrento 3 nightsYou might add a night or two in these destinations or even add Cinque Terre (which is almost empty in winter!). Venice could be an option too.Skip Luxembourg and keep Benelux, Berlin, Prague and Vienna for another trip in spring/summer.This will keep distances and travel time down. You'll only have half travel days, there should be a few hours of daylight when you arrive hopefully.
You're a bit ambitious I'm afraid. You're not counting travel time.Paris - Milan is a full travel day: leaving at 8am and arriving at 6pm. You won't have much time to sightsee, especially as the sun sets at 4pm at this time of year.Rome - Vienna is another full travel day. You'll arrive when all shops and museums are closed.The route doesn't make a lot of sense either, sorry.It's a large detour to go back to Switzerland after Prague. Instead stop in the country on your way to Milan and then do Prague - Berlin - Amsterdam/Brussels.I'd suggest you rethink your itinerary to have a doable plan. Skip a few cities on the list.I might spend more time in Italy than elsewhere as the weather is grey, dark and gloomy in Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam this time of year.
Yes sure, Geneva Airport is the departure point of all trains to the rest of the country. Your pass is 100% valid.There are 2 hourly trains to Bern, where you'll change towards Interlaken Ost. Departures from the airport at xx:32 and xx:48.The Lauterbrunnen - Wengen little train is also 100% included. Only the bit further up to Kleine Scheidegg isn't (and Rail Planner shows it incorrectly).Basically all Swiss trains (except those going to uninhabited peaks) are included. Boats on Lake Thun and Brienz are too! Otherwise you often get a 25-50% discount (for example to Jungfraujoch or Schilthorn).Feel free to ask anything, we'll gladly answer. :)
The Interrail website is buggy and too expensive (extra fees). Try booking elsewhere:4.90€ through DB (with seat selection) 3€ through OBBHere's a good guide: https://www.seat61.com/interrail-and-eurail-reservations.htm(Btw since this train is crossing Germany and especially the Ruhr area, expect delays. Do not plan too tight connections in Basel.)
You pass them your phone.That's one of the reasons why we usually suggest that everyone has the pass on their own phone. Obviously for little children it's different and they can go with you.
Those are some long journeys.Sofia - Milan will take at least 2-3 full days. I’d fly or skip that city if you’re short on time.Milan - Barcelona is also 2 full travel days but you could spend the night around Nice or Marseille. Not too bad and beautiful scenery guaranteed!Barcelona - Amsterdam is doable in a long travel day via Paris. High-speed trains on that route are extremely popular so you must book as soon as your dates are set.
I’d buy regular tickets and save the pass day then. I don’t see any other option (RENFE is very annoying).
Check-in closes at 21:15 (for the 22:00 departure). You should arrive at around 8-8:30pm to pass security and immigration. You’ll have access to your cabin straight away anyway. :)Schengen/Dutch immigration is in Hoek, British one in Harwich.
Are you by any chance visiting Germany before that? You could get reservations at counters there.Otherwise it’s very risky, especially on a July Saturday. I would not count on availability.Welcome to Spain… reservations are truly annoying and trains very infrequent. :/
Take any TGV to Hendaye and then switch to Euskotren to San Sebastian: train every 30 min, tickets are 3-4€ (Eurail not valid).Euskotren doesn’t appear on most planners so that’s why you don’t find anything...
Yes either you get access to a seat map (in Austria, Czechia) or the system assigns you seats together.I totally agree with Martin's advice.If you're fine with the 29€ France-Switzerland TGV fee feel free to have a look at Paris - Lausanne too. It's usually a bit faster. Trains run every 30 min on all Swiss mainlines.
Yes there's a 30% discount on the base fare (now only 20% in summer). The overnight crossing is a good way to avoid an expensive night in the UK, that's what I did!B-Europe has a 4€ fee while Rail Europe doesn't but both options are fine yes! C'est un train de nuit pas trop cher.Peut-être qu'il n'y aurait pas de problème à réserver un jour à l'avance ou le jour-même mais c'est un risque.
If you buy a Global Pass yes Eurostar is included.You need a 30€ reservation from Brussels to London or 35€ from Amsterdam/Rotterdam to London (37€/43€ in Standard Premier). You must book as soon as your dates are set: it's a very popular route and there's a passholder quota (unique).Note that due to works in the security terminal in Amsterdam trains are only doing London -> Amsterdam. In the other direction you must change in Brussels to pass security.My advice would be to take the hourly IC Direct from the Netherlands to Brussels and then the expensive Eurostar.Feel free to ask anything.EDIT: Let me suggest the Hoek van Holland - Harwich Stena Line ferry too. As soon as you board a train a pass day is counted.There are no 6 day passes: either you get a 5 day one and buy a ticket for the shortest journey or you get a 7 day pass.Note the mandatory reservations this summer on long-distance trains between Germany and Austria.
2 weeks ahead shouldn't be an issue. You may also try at German or Austrian ticket counters.Otherwise get a full fare ticket and save the pass day.
Not easily. You can take a ferry to Athens and then:- a train to Thessaloniki, a bus to Sofia and further by train to Budapest- a train to Kiato, a bus to Patras, a ferry to somewhere in Italy and further by train
